True, but the fact that they have to look up at me instead of straight forward or down a little does tend to have an effect. It's more comical when someone is yelling up at you. I never can keep a straight face when that happens, especially when it's a female. :p

If I have to look up to a much bigger woman than I am, at the same time, her yelling big time at me, I think I would flip. Hehehehehehheheheeh I would try to stay as far away as possible.

Well, when the average height of the tallest men in the world (the Dutch) is only 5'10 1/2'' the chances of you being taller than most men are big.

My best friend will be in Nepal for the next two years. She's doing volunteer work for JVI and the average height of the guys there is 5'5 I think. The women are around 5'1, 5'2. I was teasing her that she might find a future husband in Nepal but I totally forgot the height thing... I don't think her height is what intimades men though. She swears it is, but she is also very outspoken and loves to debate. She can go overboard sometimes and make people think she is trying to convert them to her point of view. But she really just likes to discuss topics with people that think differently then her. Most guys after talking to her will either think she's really smart and an interesting conversationalist, or get intimidated by how she talks to them.

Andromeda18_ Wrote:Does that mean you want to scream a stream of obscenities at me? Well, I love my long, straight hair, it's just the way I like it and I wouldn't want curly hair for anything in the world. Besides why should being 6' tall be a total and utter pain in the freakin ass? That was a bad analogy, in my opinion. it's a metaphor. The desire to have something you don't have. However, we already heard LSI talking about how she wouldn't want to be taller than him, so there's obviously some reasoning that being 6' tall isn't desireable.

Heh... height may intimidate some men but my wife is only 5'2" and most of my friends are scared of her. Attitude goes a long way.
As for my personal tastes... height never enters into the picture... my wife is 5'2" and my mistress is 5'10"...

Just because the men's average height is 5'5'' that doesn't mean there aren't taller men. It's just like in Japan, men's average height is 5'7'' but you see a lot of singers, actors and athletes who are 5'10'' and 5'11''. I think cultural differences will be a much bigger impediment than her height. Nina182B Wrote:I don't think her height is what intimades men though. I have a great deal of self control but sometimes, when I'm talking to people, I let things get a bit out of hand (I have a bit of a temper). Especially when we're talking about religion and people look at me like I'm a monster just because I'm an atheist! It's seems impossible for them to understand me. I at least understand why they're believers! kakomu Wrote:it's a metaphor. The desire to have something you don't have. There's nothing wrong with desiring something you don't have. It's part of the human condition. Some people want to be thinner, others want to be rich, it's that wanting that makes us move forward. Ladysilverice doesn't want to be taller than her boyfriend which means being 6' tall wouldn't be a good thing but it wouldn't be a good thing to her and not necessarily to other women. I agree that in a general way being a 6' tall woman has it's disadvantages in our society. However being 5'10'' doesn't seem undesirable to me. Even if some women think being that tall intimidates men the truth is intimidation has a lot more to do with attitude (like Zagatto said). Besides, why are women so concerned about intimidating men? A man that's intimidate by such a futile thing as height is a weak man to me. Vicious Wrote:True. That way our face is already right in their breasts. Andromeda18_ Wrote:It already is! I'm reffering to the fact that you men don't need to be shorter than women to have your faces right in their breasts. That's where your faces are, constantly, you see nothing else! :p

I at least understand why they're believers! Wow! A true atheist. Most people I run into are more agnostic than atheist. If you don't mind me asking, what happened in your life to make you believe there is no higher force? Most people I know just choose not to believe because they haven't seen any irrefutable evidence. Sorry for shanghaiing this thread. Religious beliefs are something that really interest me. For those that don't know, an atheist is someone who believes that God DOESN'T exist. Agnostics are a bit more wishy washy in that they don't believe in god outright but they do concede there is a possibility of some higher being.

My brother is an atheist and just like Andromeda18, he's also very scientific, likes to know how things work, and can record loads of facts in his brain. He's read tons of books from any type of genre. He's double majoring in english and biology.. kinda weird to me, but cool. From my understanding, he's an atheist because he has not seen any scientific proof that God exists.
