does s-video really make the picture better when watching dvd's?

As others have said it often depends on the TV itself..........most of the time you will get a small difference where as on the unit i just got ( a plasma) its a very large difference........................

the funny thing about gold plated cables is that the ends are the only part that is plated gold, the line running between the two is standard wire. if your tv is under 32 inches i wouldn't even bother, but you will see a difference on anything bigger. a friend of mine has a 52inch flat wide screen t.v. and without the high end cables it had a pretty poor picture.

i agree all my cables for my electic gizmos literrally all come from Poundland and they are A! OK!

the s video cable is actually better than my friens £10 one and then he went and bought the one i had
