CMX to edit the hell out of Tenjho Tenge
Posted by: evilomar - 03-08-2005, 08:52 AM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (10)

As many of you probably know DC comics has recently started releasing manga under the CMX publishing name. Now I don't mind when they edit some pictures in manga here in the states like in Shonen Jump and some Dark Horse stuff, but this editing that they did on Tenjho is fucking ridiculous. I'm not a pervert, oh no wait I am, but it bothers me when people touch other artist's work. Check out this link and support an uncensored Tenjho Tenge:

  Are fansubs legal?
Posted by: odin0425 - 03-07-2005, 01:01 AM - Forum: General Babble - Replies (41)

This is a good question, one that I see fairly often. Cyrus and I were talking about this very subject the other night. I did a little research and found out that Japanese copyright laws are fairly similar to America?s. Fansubs are indeed illegal to distribute, however there is a silver lining, most of production companies in Japan realize that most of what is being fansubed is not available in most countries, they also realize that imports make up a sizable chunk of their profit margin, so they are not likely to prosecute anyone until import profits decrease.

Now you might be asking, well why do Japanese laws apply to me? There is an international copyright treaty which many countries have singed, if you live in one of those countries, you can be prosecuted for breaking overseas copyright law by the country in question. However if you are in a countries that isn?t part of the treaty you can do what ever you want.

Now, what happens when the Anime has been picked up by a production company in your country? Simply put, you are their bitch. They would have legal rights over the fansub even though it was downloaded before they picked up the series, even though it was originally recorded in Japan.

In short, if you download funsubs that are not available to purchase in your country, you are more then likely cool, but as soon as your country picks up the series, get rid of it and move onto the next.

  anyone good with syth programs?
Posted by: Batz Kage - 03-06-2005, 09:52 PM - Forum: General Babble - Replies (13)

Pretty much our drummer walked on us cause his other band got a gig & when he's not drumming he's trying to sleep/cyber with the girls that like their emo-core music...

So, it was opted that till we find a new drummer, that I am to find a good simulation software to make noise, no matter how crappy.

My knowledge of music is about silm to none, but when it comes to something that can be done on a computer my friends point their fingers at me -_-

I need a synth program to simulate drums, prefferibly one that uses samples, that way I have less chances of screwing the thing up.

I've used guitar pro 4 (which I don't like for drums) & I've been suggested CakeWalk..

Anyone able/willing to help?

  Gates+Sakaguchi=?????
Posted by: geo85 - 03-06-2005, 05:57 PM - Forum: Video Gaming - Replies (16)

I am sure most of you that play video games have heard of the newly inked contract between Bill Gates and Hironbu Sakaguchi ( excuse me if I miss spelt his name). For those who have not, the contract states that Hironbu (the master and originator of the FF series) will produce two totally exclusive rpg's just for x-box 2 (supposedly being released end of this year). The games will probably be released either late 2006 or early 2007. I personaly am pretty hyped, x-box really needs good rpgs and who better than Mr. Final Fantasy to produce them. What thoughts doust thou denizens of anime think?

P.S.- Don't count on the games ever being released on any other system, unlike nintendo Gates is true to his word. Oh and to any who are happy about re4 being released on ps2 I laugh and fart in your general direction, do none of you realize why the re games are being released on the gamecube, its because ps2 has too weak a graphics processor to properly play the games. re4 will look and play like crap on ps2, hah hah hah!!!

  Apocalypse and the Beauty Queen.
Posted by: Blight - 03-06-2005, 02:44 PM - Forum: General Babble - Replies (4)

I have held off on posting this until I knew for sure I was going to be in the movie, but they filmed the scene where I was an extra yesterday so I decided to tell y?all about it. I think the movie is going to be a piece of crap, but they have been filming Apocalypse and the Beauty Queen (http://www.abeautyqueen.com/exec.htm) just two houses away from mine for like 4 weeks. Yesterday, me and my friend Tim got to be extras in the movie. We are peasants and the queen is throwing bread out in to us. We had to get all nasty cloths and put them on, and then get makeup that made us look all dirty (it made my skin break out real bad though). My mom took pictures of me and my friend dressed up and I?ll post them when I get them developed. The only bad part was that I was over at Tim?s house the night before and got real hammered so I had to get up the early the next morning with one hell of a hang over. I also had to wait like four hours before the even started getting us ready for the shoot. I also got to meet Gunner, the guy who played Leather Face in the Texas chain saw massacre, which was cool so it was worth it. I doubt the movie will come out in theaters over here, they said they are aiming for a Europeans audience, but I?m goona buy it on DVD when it comes out just cause I?m goona be in it.
