I've noticed an ongoing trend at anime conventions and such that has been disturbing me. It seems Evangelion is becoming the next show that is "cool" to make fun of. Before it was largely DBZ, everybody seems to hate you at these events if you even mention it despite the fact that 75% of the people hating on you probably watched it with a passion back in the day.

So now I see Evangelion following the same trend, replacing DBZ as the next series that seems to make you hip and cool at these conventions if you are making fun of it. Although Eva hasn't reached the level of total hatred that DBZ has, I think it is heading in that direction.

I think it is unfortunate that both of these series which I have enjoyed for different reasons, have to end up this way. Maybe it's the unfortunate aspect of anime fans who seem to have some automatic dislike switch for anything that has a spec of popularity. God forbid someone other than them would happen to like the same thing. I don't know, just something I noticed. It seems any time an anime becomes popular that it will instantly be despised by the more hardcore anime fans. Why is this?

i like fushigi yuugi better because it has a little of every genre out there and i love reuroni kenshin because of the action.

See folks? I do live...I just don't post often.

Good day, my fellow anime freaks, otaku one and all.. Oh yeah, hi to you too, newbies. Now I have a funny feeling that many of you, perhaps even most of you, have surfed a few message boards in your time. Perhaps there are even a few Arcticnightfall readers poking their heads into this rant, ne? =) Anyway, I have a question for you faithful board surfers out there. Do you get annoyed at seeing the same questions over and over again, asked by folks who can?t be bothered to take a couple of minutes to surf around to find that answer for themselves? Do any of you know when MAC will be making a perfect version of Sakura Wars TV, or maybe a rip of all the new Ghibli R1?s? No, you say? Well, neither do I, neither does anyone else so it would be really wonderful if people would stop asking different variations of the same question, over and over again? We had a newbie guide once, I?m thinking it may be time to write up another one, a la AN. The sad thing is, most of the newbies spend the time to look around before they post. Half the time it?s people who should know better who are asking the stupid stuff. Perhaps it?s just me.. Maybe I need to lighten up, put on a big fake smiley face, and just either ignore the questions that annoy me or just answer them with a big huge dose of cheer.. Or maybe cheer is boring and flaming is more fun for everyone. So I ask you, the masses. What do you think? Should every question asked on a board be answered politely or should people who should really know better feel the wrath for wasting your time? Let?s rant, shall we?

I know close to none of you care but, still.
Me & one of my artistic friends have embraked on the quest on making a "manga", ok, well technically it's a comic book, but we call it manga.
I've went through two artist before, one never did anything (he's the one I have now), & the other wanted to work on his own terms & change the story to his liking, add characters that he wanted in there, & draw all the girls with extremly large boobs, & barely any clothes.

Now, the first artist I had picked out of the job found the old script I gave him, & decided to want to try working with me again. But, my joy was almost shattered at the fact the only drawings he's done laterly are stick figures, so he's going to need some practice to get used to drawing again.
Our first project flopped because he said he couldn't draw the main character, then said he was joking. I left a much easier script with him, & he lost it, or used it for rolling paper, either way, I lost my only copy of it that way, but now he's going to work on my newest, & probably worst project.

AgentX Hunter. It's what came out of me wanting to do a Hunter x Hunter fanfic, but with all my fanfics I make it so that it can be/become an independent story of its own. Basicly the plot sucks, & the flow of it's all wrong. I have a lot to work out. Of HxH, what I was hoping to mimic was the hunter trials, & for them to have a goal, or something to fight for.

Basicly it takes place in a world where there's a secert agency that empolies people to kill big drug dealers & the like. (Yes, I know it's lame.) Now before to become an agent you had to born into the family of an origanal memeber, but with crime rates growing larger they opened it to the "public". The three Main Main Characters was memebers till they screwed up on a mission, two died. Also another probably lame thing I have a habbit of having in my stories is a way to bring people back to life. They are sent through the exam to try & get their jobs back.
So far there are 19 characters taking the exam, the Main Main Character, the Main Characters who will pass the exam, & may make an appearence in later chapters, & the Minor Main Characters who do not pass, but may still get later parts as villins. There are 3 teachers, & about 7 prisoners used to test the students in combat.
I've yet to decide weither or not there will even be written test given to the guys going through the exam, or if it will be all combat type training.

Their first test was to navigate through a desert like place following poles in the ground to test gut feelings, & eye sight. Their second was to pass through a maze filled with a few traps, & the third, well I was getting low on ideas, so they're not camping out in a tiger filled jungle.

The characters themselves are a bit lacking in the difference of attitude, because I've never had more than five main characters to work with. Their design also isn't very origanal. I have everything from a hooker who fights with a nail file, to a boy who relizes on luck (he passes most non fighting test very easily). I'm also trying to work in character development & the such, their are appearent rivals, & I'm trying to come up with some way to work in a few plot twist.

But the one thing I most proud of is the fact I came up with blood types for each character

Any advice?

All the review sites I used to go to are really behind on title releases, or have alot of listings or titles with no reviews. And I don't think I know any that review non dubed titles.
I would search google or something like that but all I normally come up with is a lot of site by people who like to write their own reviews, & therefore have maybe at the most 20 reviews of american released anime.

So anyone have a suggestion for me (besides to go to hell, or get a brain)?

I was just thinking of something that would be cool. You know how you list the new items from shipments you get in on the main page. I think it would be cool to make links to those items to the store.

Just read the review for the set, adn I'm very worried and pissed off. l was wondering can anyone confirm if this is true, l brought the set that it contained the eng dub which apparantyl has not, plus the subs are awful too!!..
