When you call yourself an Otaku, what do you mean by it?

I have heard Otaku to mean, no life, only anime, but then there are those who use it when it only fignifys they like one show or Genre (heysi).

Now, from my point of view, an Otaku would be one who cannot stand to go without Anime no matter how childish it may be. Which I go by, & therefore call myself, an Otaku. Although with some of the jokes for shows I've heard lately, it some times almost makes me want to bend this defintion of mine, just slightly.

Ok, as I said in another post, I finished The Visions of Escaflowne, which left me feeling slightly depressed. Not only because I didn't like the ending, but with every other title, it's the shock of it all being over.

For my next title I was think I might need to go with some of a more happy up beat kinda like. But, then again I was also thinking of Boogiepop Phatom I (sorry for any misspelling).

Watase Yuu, Miyazaki..Also, I like the artists from Gainax as well...Whomever worked on the drawing for Spriggan and animation did a good job too..Ninja Scroll drawings kicked butt too..I cant think of anything else at the moment but I'm sure something will pop in later on

Show which I really don't really like:

Dragonball Z never really liked their style of drawing..kinda forgot the creators name [ Suzaku's edit: Akira Toriyama]...Some episodes that I've seen had characters without any noses...Then, come episodes someone I guess decided to draw a nose in..I dunno felt it was too inconsistant and the backgrounds were pretty dull in some of the fight scenes..

Weiss Kreuz let me down too in some of the fight scenes it looked kinda weak..Guess I'm being slightly too picky gonna go now cya

Ok so the time is vastly approaching.... The anime convention in Boston. After looking as if I was going TDA (Temporary Duty Assignment) to the Middle East. I received word it was canceled. So now I am free to attend the convention with the rest of you guys. So here is my dilemma... But first I being the posting slut I have become am going to be the first to say I will not hijack this thread off topic and hope others will do the same. I Thank You in advance.

Now if you check the web site for the Convention http://animeboston.com/ you will see that they have staff openings. I may apply for one of the EMT positions. Hell free room & board. Down side I have to donate 20 hours of service. So my question is this... How about we room together? I mean Steve, Kakoi, & Dark I would share a room with you guys in a heart beat. Plus it would only be 20 to 40 bucks out of pocket instead of 100 to 150. Bonus I don't have to donate my time and get to waste it with you the people I know...

So what say you...?
