You're first HK DVD?

yeah, you are lucky for never having horrible HK dvds, which I sadly did, innocent as I was not suspecting bad quality.

I have some bad quality stuff before, but that's what reviews are for.

yeah, the review system is great but a few things dont have reviews in those cases I ask around and see if anyone who was to lazy to post a review had bought it.

The very first HK anime that received was the Irresponsible Captain Tylor TV boxset, which had excellent quality and was a great deal for 36 dollars!!! Sure, there was some pixelation and color bleeding in one of the scenes in episode two but other than that, there were no other problems at all!!!  I'm thinking about getting the Gasaraki boxset from cookiejarvideo.com next....

Bastards just buy the R1 rips. You gotta support MI and AV. Companies that actually put some work into their releases.

I just wanted the series and bought the Mac set, because I was new to HK anime and it was the only irresponsible captain tylor tv series in the store section, plus it had positive reviews, wich was the iceing on the cake.

Yeah, theres some good original stuff out there, especially when they use fansubs, plus theres lots of stuff which arent out here yet or might never come out here

Exactly. A good example of a good HK release is Lupin the Third. Good stuff.

R1 rips are the way to go, unless there is unusually good quality or you need the series no matter what

I'm with optimistic ox. I like the R1 rips, because I like dubs. The only subbed only series I have is Maison Ikkoku. Cuz Viz is a bunch of beeatches that will never finish releasing it. And I just ordered Area 88 because I couldn't find the rest of the tapes anywhere around here.
