Puppet Master Wrote:I believe for a 26 episode series 3 discs work they just need to keep making em like the Outlaw Star set. As far as movies and OVAs for for 6 episoides it all depends on the length of each episoide. But 3 DVDs for 13 episoides IMO would cost too much and be a waste. But that's just my view...

The final thing is I believe special features well just suck..

whatever floats your boat.

As for speical features, some are okay..
Like music video's, I like. and *some* of those voice-mistake things, the ones in Bersserk at least, they were amusing.

Well, I just used that ratio as an example because of many reasons. One reason has to due with the fushigi yugi series. I really wanted the r1 set, but I ended up buying the Hk edition instead, since i am dead broke and can't afford it. Since the Hk edition is only 3 disks while the region 1 is 4 disks (i mean one of the boxsets, not both boxsets). So I am like, why can't it be four disks instead and be like the r1 edition, with no compression and stuff. If it was 4 disks for the fushigi yugi sets, I believe the quality would've been better. Besides the music videos on the last disk of the seiryu set really sucked because of the pixelation. Besides they squeezed a lot of episodes on the 3rd disk and 50 minutes worth of music videos. So four disks would've better. I agree with you Puppet master that 3 disks for a 13 ep series, it would've been too expensive.

Just so you know, the Escaflowne set has the tv series on 3 discs and the 4th disc is the Escaflowne movie. So, it still has the 9-9-8 distribution for the tv series.

FX used to have a set that was just the tv series and it was 3 discs. Later they made the 4 disc set that included the movie.

Well, accourding to the search engine on this site, yes, that is true.
But, my freind bought this set in england, and, its FX, no movie, 4-disks.
there wasnt any problems with it either...though, it was 30 bucks I think ><
