  Older Anime
Posted by: Cyrus - 08-31-2005, 02:44 AM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (3)

ok i got a question

Also i saw an anime that was in outer space and there was this huge metal computer like thing that seemed to almost have a God quality but further then that i can't remember except that i think it had a rust color.

I saw another anime that everyone was a girl on this planet then a new life form was born and it was a guy and everone was like wow your the chosen one or whatever (yes it sounds like a porno but it wasn't)

And for the life of me i keep thinking there was a really cool anime called blade runner (not the live action movie) but yeah it was cool but i can't really remember it and i don't know if thats the right name or not i just keep thinking that must be the name.

There was one other that these people seemed to be in a dream or something and it was really bizarre it was almost like all these people from different worlds were together it may be a chinese ghost story but im not sure if anyone is can they confirm this before i buy it

I seem to think in one of these anime's i think it was the blade runner one there was a bunch of robots that battled and i seem to think they actually bled or something like that maybe they were cyborgs or androids im not sure but i know the robots im thinking of were seperate from robot carnival

If anyone knows any of these anime let me know by pming me or whatever and this should just about do it for old anime i used to remember that id like to see again it was all stuff that was on sci fi

Also robot carnival is on my list to find

  Update

First of, I'd like to let everyone know that the orders are being shipped as usual, even though I havent been sending out the usual shipping confirmations due to overwhelming amount of work ~_~

Secondly, thought I'd make a news post about a few additions to the store. I had a fair amount of titles sitting aside waiting for payments (people email me about ordering via money order, I place items aside til payment arrives and the buyer never follows through) so I have put them back to store. Check the 20 or so titles that I've added, please note that their quantities are very limited, most of them are single copies of that title so please grab it fast, some titles are things I already have in store in EZDVD release, but if you want the FX packaging, check it out, other titles are FX titles that havent been redone by EZDVD and few more MACs too.

Enjoy!

  Dvd Shrink Problem
Posted by: Cidien - 08-29-2005, 07:54 PM - Forum: General Babble - Replies (15)

Well this is a new one. I've already tried reburning and rebooting and re everything. Here's the error I get when I try to load Patlabor vol. 11

Failed to open file blahblahblah\VTS_02_3.VOB

The system cannot find the file specified.

What i'm wondering is why the hell it's looking for a file to open that doesn't exist. I already checked the disc, there is no _3 file. Anyone have any idea why it's doing that. I even tried renaming other VTO files to it to see what would happen but it just can't find the renamed file then. =/

  whats everyones take on these
Posted by: Mantis421 - 08-29-2005, 01:46 PM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (10)

I am going to do some shopping from the store here. I wanted to get everyones take on a few of the series I am considering right now, good/bad the usual. Here is the list

AD Police to serve and protect
Ikkitousen strength of a thousand
Neo RanGa
Submarine 707 Revolution
Vandread Complete Collection

I know little to nothing about these releases and don't mind taking a chance on something new to me, but still want to get a rough idea of what people think of these

  Something Messed up for you

Well curiosity had gotten the best of me and I checked the catagories and who had been nominated for all the video music awards on MTV I was dissapointed by what I saw and posted on their message board here is what the original post looked like

I have no interest in the VMA avards this year for a few reasons. First
were is the electronic videos. Last I checked Rave/Electronic is a
pretty big thing in itself. Is MTV not even wanting to let this music type
get its dues also. Which brings me to why is R&B, rap and Pop getting
listed as Dance videos. last I checked Dance music is BT, Oakenfold,
Euro dance. Lastly why isn't international video's even have a catagory?
Just makes you think that MTV no longer is for all listeners and viewers
but just pop and top 40

When I checked my e-mail this morning I got a message from MTV that said my post had been deleted because it broke MTV message board rules and regulations. What up with that.

Why perfect collections arent perfect - my analysis
Posted by: Liete - 08-28-2005, 12:56 PM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (7)

Ever wonder why even on the best mastered perfect collection show hints of pixelation? Well I think I have figured it out. A dvd-5 contains 4.7 GB of data, a dvd-9 contains 8.5 as we all know. It is a fact that on many perfect collections (im not saying all) official dvd's are done a 2 on 1 or a 2 on 3 ratio often the sources are single volume dvd-5's.

4.7 GB + 4.7 GB = 9.4 GB

Dvd-9 = 8.5 GB

data loss for 2 full dvd-5 on one dvd-9 = 900mb

It is a fact that the second layer of a dual layer disc cannot hold as much as the first, so putting 2-3 full dvd-5's on a dvd-9 requires a 10-25% compression. True this can be slightly reduced by cutting features, but this can only do so much.

The saying Dvd-9 can hold twice as much as a Dvd-5 is not at all true.

  DVD Covers
Posted by: RF_InSAnE - 08-28-2005, 05:06 AM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (3)

Does anyone know a place where I could download/print full dvd covers (front, side and back)? The best size of course would be 1:1 with the real thing, but other sizes are good too.

But let me explain the situation as well. I loved Lunar Legend Tsukihime and at last the dvd's are coming out where I live, Europe. I finally found the first two dvd's (the third one isn't even out yet) on eBay, but they're only the dvd's, so the boxes are missing. The dvd's were review copies so no box was with them in the first place, but to put the dvd's with my other dvd's I need the covers (empty boxes are easy to get). The auction goes on for about a week, but before then I'd like to know whether or not I can find the covers.
I live in the Netherlands and in my country it's really hard to get anime anyway, so I'd love to buy the dvd's and print the covers myself.

So what I'm looking for are the covers of the first two dvd's of Lunar Legend Tsukihime (the European R2 covers would be best, but any other might do too). It would be best if someone who owns those dvd's would contact me and send me scans of the covers, but a site is also great.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Does the Chobits EZ set have the missing audio that the FX set has?
Posted by: topcello - 08-28-2005, 01:40 AM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (2)

Yeah I was just wondering if EZ fixed the audio problem that the the FX set had, or if they just did a direct rip ?
