  DeepDiscountDVD Security Problem
Posted by: Japschin - 10-09-2004, 03:25 AM - Forum: General Babble - Replies (10)

For those who have accounts with DDD, please change/delete your credit card # or change the option to "Bill Me Later" if you are in USA. It will automatically clear your CC #/information.

Read the following posts at DVDTALK.

Initially, I logged in, it was my account. However, after changing the information, tried logging in again, it was some poor dude in Netherland's account.

Good Luck!

Saber Marionette J - Who loves all or most of it?
Posted by: skylark - 10-08-2004, 09:37 PM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (19)

Having dutifully searched for threads concerning this anime, I only found old ones, so I hope that starting a new thread is acceptable.

Being new here, I hope that it is okay to post threads of this type.

I am asking for people's opinions of an anime series, in this case, Saber Marionette J, Saber Marionette Again, and Saber Marionette J-X. Not a specific rip, just how you like the plot, characters, and the anime in general. Not so focused on the technical aspects, as those are covered in the reviews on this site, but if you want to say something technical, that is welcome, too.

I would prefer not to know plot spoilers. What I'm interested in are more broad sketches, such as, is the first series the only one worth watching? Is the OVA that bad? Can one watch J and feel satisfied, or does one have to watch J-X? What are your favorite and least favorite aspects of the series? What are your favorite and least favorite characters? Do you feel that J-X has a satisfactory ending?

I have these on order, so before they arrive, (in fact, I still have time to cancel my order if enough people here say, AVOID!) I'd love to know what anyone thinks of this series.

Thanks in advance. :-)

_______________________________________

CANNES, FRANCE October 5, 2004 - The three largest producers and distributors of Anime in America - ADV Films, Inc., Funimation Productions LTD and Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. - announced plans to form a joint venture for the development and marketing of Anime. The announcement was made here today at MIPCOM by John Ledford, CEO and President, ADV Films, Kevin Corcoran, Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer, ADV Films; Gen Fukunaga, President, Funimation Productions LTD, Daniel Cocanougher, Vice President; Funimation Productions LTD; Yosuke Kobayashi, President and CEO, Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. and Hideki Goto, Vice President, Business Development, Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc.

The new joint venture will focus on developing high quality entertainment series primarily targeted to children and young adults, where the team can best maximize their respective resources, talent and expertise.

The synergy of these companies is impressive as together they reach 70 percent of the Anime home video market in the United States.

Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. (http://www.Geneon-ent.com) is a full-service producer and distributor of entertainment content including film, music, animation and television shows on VHS, DVD and CD.   Fav episodes #9 Abenobashi Magic Shopping Street
Posted by: Mantis421 - 10-08-2004, 08:15 AM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (3)

First I want to say sorry for not posting this on wensday I just got back from vacation last night. I picked up this title on recommondation from some of you and haven't been dissapointed by the title. OK OK to this weeks task. This series is weird and insane in some ways everything from the goblins to the poor guy the kids keep calling Mr, to the funny fact both the kids talk in a southern acent in the dub. This is a very off the wall well made series. Surprisingly my favorite episode was #6 Fashback, in which Sashi's grandfather is telling the story of how the shopping complex was built and why the lynch pins were placed the way they were. I know this was a more serious episode then the rest of the series for the most part but as out of place it seem it really brings alot of the series into focus better. episode 6 really fleshed out the story for me made me like the series more. So what was you guys fav episode or opinion on this one?

Tenchi Muyo Perfect: FX missing subtitles? Chinese?
Posted by: skylark - 10-07-2004, 07:29 PM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (15)

Hi, everyone, I am new here. :-)

I saw this site's review for FX's 9-disc boxed set for Tenchi Muyo:

http://www.import-anime.com/index.php?pa...em_id=2937

However, it doesn't mention Chinese subtitles. I recently purchased supposedly this same 9-disc FX version off eBay that has Chinese subtitles. Is this a real FX set?

Were Chinese subtitles recently added to increase FX's marketing base?

Second, on my Tenchi Universe, Episode 10, "No Need For An Arch Rival," there are no subtitles at the beginning of the episode until the title is shown. The scene is a bar room. I can listen in either English or Japanese, but there are no subtitles. After the title of the episode is shown, subtitles appear. Is this a defective disk, or are all of the FX sets like this? Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for any input anyone may have into this disk set.

It wont let me log in to view the store.... it keeps saying "Your account has not been verified yet. Please verify your accout by clicking on the link in the email that was sent to the account you registered with." I've had not problems in the 6-8 months or so that I've been coming here until now. I'm not sure if I ever did get a confirmation email and there's not button to re-send it. What should I do?
