Yamada's was originally a newspaper manga strip, so the film is kinda like a big collection of short "strips" on life in the Yamada household. Highly enjoyable. This ain't your average Ghibli movie. It revolves around the Yamadas and is composed of short clips of everyday life and situations. Entertaining but action freaks might wanna stay clear. This movie is a bit "artsy" and there isn't any "plot" that ties the whole thing together. It's a collection of (many) shorts of the Yamada family who are basically pretty stupid and petty people. It feels like I've OD'd on Sunday Funnies after watching this movie. Basically entertaining and well done but not my first pick to watch from Studio Ghibli. <br />
