Read or Die (ROD) is based on the novels and manga by Kurata Hideyuki and is the story of Yomiko Readman, a substitute teacher who has a consuming passion for collecting books. However, Yomiko also leads the life of a secret agent in the British Libraries special ops force. Known as "The Paper" for her special ability to manipulate paper, Yomiko is caught up in a plot for world domination based on the notes written in the margins of certain rare books.
