this topic is gonna filled with rheteric.. I prefer subs but i like few dubs (like Lodoss War OAV) so this topic is really pointless... on one had u got the newbie anime watchers that perfer english dub hands down because the idea of watching and reading is too much, then there are the hard core watchers that say that dubbing is ruining an original peice of work... and then there are people like me that like both...

so let leave this topic open... heck I will put it sticky so that everyone can get this out of their system ;p

JJ you are my god. Thank you for keeping this one open, because I really like to hear what people like. I am one of those hard core fans that watches only in japanese, but I believe dubs have merit. They expose alot more people to anime who may have otherwise just dismissed it as a cartoon. Hopefully it will lead them to the harder stuff (being subs). Thanks for leaving this one open. :mrgreen:

Nutech releases have no subs? .. i mean i remember that Pure Love was japanese only or english dub but that was released by Anime 18.. dont tell me Nutech is pulling shit like that with some releases?

My favorite line from dubbed hentai came from a British release. A doctor lifts up a nurse's dress and says "DAMN baby, your booty got it going on". :mrgreen:

even if they could... some dubs (non-hentai) are just so bad its embarasing to watch... put the hentai aspect into it and its like u wanna hide your head in the sand hehe

I am generally a fan of subbed but I do find that some dubbed versions have better translations than the subs and/or have voices that fit the characters more, but that is very rare, most of the time I think that the director knows what he is doing with the voices, but then again, japaneese voices can only go so far, rather than in america with a variety of people.
