And yall are doing what for Halloween?
Posted by: Batz Kage - 10-29-2003, 07:32 PM - Forum: General Babble - Replies (14)

Well, I myself had plans to dress up as Santa, & my good friend was going to dress up as Rudof (heysi) so we could demistrate the things that go on at the north pole *cough*, but neither of us have the materials, so we're just going to walk the streets all night, to bad I can't take the time to try summoning ghost, I'm sure that would be fun though.

The Fine Print: Due to certain circumstances, certain people are not to respond to this post, although I doubt many will anyways.

Peace.

Saint Seiya *remastered* new DVDs ??
Posted by: ZeroF666 - 10-29-2003, 02:08 AM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (11)

Hello guys!

Is it possible that some brand new Saint Seiya HK DVDs are going to be released, with video and sound remastered ???

I say that because in Japan, they released SS on DVD (5 boxsets) and they "cleaned" the masters of the series.

Thanks in advance for your answers, and see ya Wink !

Posted by: Tripp - 10-28-2003, 03:49 PM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (6)

I was just wondering if anyone else that bought this found that they only had 4 movies on it instead of the five. The first disk has Appleseed, and the second disk has Black Magic-M66, Ghost in the Shell, and Gundress. I'm missing the Dominion Tank Police. Anyone else missing a movie too? Still have yet to watch the movies to see if they work though, so I'll edit if something else comes up.

Swee-heet!! I got tickets for the Nov. 13th Mindless Self Indulgence show in Seattle, Baby!!! Smile

My friend and I are hopelessly addicted to the hard-edged, technotronical, white-boy, nipple-pinching, deep-vibin', trash-talkin', ghetto-blastin' fat beats of MSI lately, and we just cannot wait until this show!! Smile My God! It's gonna be like seeing Superman screw WonderWoman in a giant blender!! Smile SWEEET!!! SmileSmileSmile

For those of you NOT currently in-the-know, see: www.mindlessselfindulgence.com
Gawd, I wish The Mars Volta was playing near here too! Ah well, one miracle at a time... Smile

  Now that is cool

I am not a big fan of Dennis Miller but this is good...

Quote:"Instead of coaxing a Battle-Bot off-road on the Red Planet (search) why don?t we take NASA?s budget and rededicate it to a public works project and build a comprehensive system of bullet trains right here on terra firma? Because, quite frankly, the current odds of getting to Saturn are a whole lot better than those of going from L.A. to Fresno on Amtrak.

We could advance the frontiers of technology by diverting NASA funds into an all-robotic Army because we have a vast, untapped fighting force in this country that should be unleashed: the Nintendo Brigade. I?ve got a 13-year-old who -- if you give him a Barcalounger, a large bag of Doritos and a toggle switch -- will fly an unmanned drone right up Hussein?s right nostril and he?ll never even realize it until the bomb goes off.

Hey, let?s keep NASA around to fight off asteroids on a collision course with Earth and that?s it. Give any and all funding to the guys who invented the video game Galaga and make sure they ray gun any death boulders heading our way into smithereens.

Besides, space travel is one of those fields where the greatest progress won?t necessarily be incremental. Let?s dry dock the shuttle and just wait a few decades and I?m sure somewhere down the line a new braniac kid, the next Einstein, will just scribble something on a legal pad one day and say, ?Here Granddad, here?s how to get to Mars using only a shop-vac, a Slinky and a Mennen Speed Stick.?

A list of Scanulations to consider reading.
Posted by: Batz Kage - 10-27-2003, 07:17 PM - Forum: Anime Discussion - Replies (2)

Yeah, I'm boreb & I'm going to list off all manga (scanulations I suggest you people read, & a bit about them such as where to d/l them from.

Hunter X Hunter
Action Adventure or whatnot, nothing to adult rated, some people get sliced up, & one or two get their heads blown off. It's sorta like YYH, only the people are always traveling of a "quest" of some sort. It has quite a few boring parts, where they're learning all the technical stuff about focusing their power as all sorts of things, but the story in all is cool.
http://www.toriyamaworld.com carries the first 16 volumes. They translate slowly so, once caught up, one should be able to get up to volume 18 (I beleive) at http://www.Manga-Section.com

Zombie Powder
Action Adventure
People travel around looking for rings of the dead. It starts out ok, & gets better as it goes. Pertty cool, but it ended at only 4 volumes, & only about 1/8th of the way through the whole story. Adultish due to people being killed, & the effect of the rings on people is a bit weird.
It follows the travels of Gamma, who reminds me of a sword using version of Vash (from Trigun), his buddy, Elwood, a pickpocket knife wielding boy who wants to bring his sister back from the dead; C.T. Smith, who uses a gun, & likes to try to use bombs; and near the end of like the 3rd volume they're joined by a reporter.
Also availible at toriyama world.

666 Satan
Action Adventure once again.
Nothing much adult rated about this one, only it kinda talks about devil like stuff. Now that I think back to it, it's not that interesting, either that or the fact that the scanulators rarely ever work on it. I've read up till chapter 4, which is where it get real interesting, but it's also the last release. It's about a boy who like has Satan inside him, & he brings bad luck to those around him, but when in trouble he transforms, & he wants to take over the world so people won't make fun of him. Although it mainly focuses around O-parts which I believe are weapons made by Satan, which use the person's spirit to active an effect.
Another found at Torimaya World like so many others I'll list.

Anne Freaks
Uh, not sure.
I've never read this one, but I really want to. It's about a girl who kills her parents. They say it's pertty good.
Found at: http://www.omanga.net/?cid=annefreaks

Black Cat
Action.
It's about a retired assassin (I think he was an assassin), who is now a sweeper (collects bounties). It starts out normal with the weirdest thing being how much like a cat the main character is. He has incerdible speed & the sort, but later there's a mutant girl, a guy who makes an "energy blade", & another guy who can sew body parts back together.
Also at Toriyama World.

Bleach
Action.
A boy a family of people who appearently can communicate with ghost 9I think one of his sisters can hear them, but not se them, I'm not sure I didn't follow the beginning to well.) Anyways due to certain circumstances, he inherents the power of a shinigami (I don't think I spelled that right), which means he gets a cool sword to go hunt down evil spirits with. It's worth a read.
Found at Toriyama World.

Blood Hound
Love I guess.
Hard to really explain, it's about vampires, & male prositution (err, not really). I can't really explain without tell a bit of the plot. I liked it, but probably because it was about vampires.
Found at: http://www.sakura-crisis.net/

Bokko
Uhh, action/adventure.
It starts out with a strange man who travels to a God forsaken little place that is about to be attacked by over 10,000 troops. He knows some arts of defence which he teaches to the people, they defend the city, then the plot changes. It's pertty good. Be warned it has some disturbing scenes such as one guy getting stabbed through the mouth with a spear, & one guy walking on a broken leg to get in one attack.
Found: http://www.omanga.net/?cid=bokko

Break Shot
Pool.
It's about playing pool. About all can say. I like it, while the rest of you probably won't.
At: http://mangasync.org/bs/V01/index.php

Bremen
Action.
It's about a bunch of guys who get together & form a band. One of which can kill people using anything that is circular. It's basicly the theroy of PUnk, only they call it rock, because they have about the same roots of culture or whatnot. The only adult things besides people being killed with 10 yen pieces & old vinal (heysi) is one girl in her bra & panties, & talk of masterbation.
Also found at Toriyama World.

Full Metal Alchemist
Action Adventure.
About two brothers who study alchemy to bring back their dead mother. What comes to life can barely be human & to found it the process took one of the brother's leg & arm, while it took all but the other's soul. The older brother put his younger brother's soul into a metal suit, & had his parts replaced with metal. Now their journey is to restore the younger brother's body. It's cool.
At: Toriyama World.

Hagane
Uhh, Action I guess.
It's about a girl who has the cells of some warrior inside of her. ONe guy has the cells of a oricle (or something like that), & another of billy the kid. There's a quite a bit of nudity & sexual jokes. Some ok fighting scenes. All in all it's pertty good.
Found at: http://www.manga-sketchbook.org

Hajime no Ippo
Sports
It's about boxing, but goes a bit deeper than that.
Found at: http://www.snoopycool.com/manga/ippo/index.htm

Leviathan
uhh, yeah.
Hard to explain, for I've read little about it. Some woman's great love went missing. He later returned as a demon killer whose body was built out of like 12 people. it's kinda cool. He's like got the hand of a woman, the leg of a man, all kinds of stuff like that. The idea of the story is good, now for the story itself, ehh, I don't really know.
At: http://www.omanga.net/?cid=leviathan

Lilim Kiss
Love Story.
My first, & favorite love story. there's like a whole love triangle thing going on with a demon. It's neat. The boy who released the demon promised to give her energy so that she wouldn't feed off of everyone, & because the energy he gives her is so strong it's like they're ment to be together, but neither are willing to admit it, because they're always fighting, & he's looking for a g/f.
http://fucktokyopop.cjb.net is where I got it from, but there are a few other places that have it.

Outlaw Star
Everyone already knows about this. It's being released kinda slowly at: http://jinmen.sigh.org/

Saiyuki
Adventure
Hard to introduce, but chances are it needs no introduction. A lot of people know of the anime. There's three different manga of Saiyuki I belive.
http://www.mangacity.net They have a lot of other good stuff like Shensin Gumi Peacemakers (bad spelling), & a few others, but I don't have time to name them all.

Tenjiyou Tenge
Action
Sex, fights, super powers, what else could a man want in a manga? It's pertty good, but doesn't really appeal to me for reasons I myself don't understand.
Found at: http://mangatranslation.com/ Who used to do Get Backers, & are now working on Vulgar Ghost DayDream which is supposed to be a cool horror manga, but it'll take me about 8 hours to d/l a volume, so I'm hesitating to do so.

So, anyone else have any suggestions or comments?
