I know we all have our personal lists, of what we hate and what we like- a few of these titles are super horrible- more than likely the older titles- where they did not put as much effort into them, and did a quickie job in just getting them out ( saving a buck )

One of my favorites is CowboyBebop and Outlaw Star ( there are alot more )

One of my least favorites is FLCL- I think they did a fairly decent job on this title, i just like the Japanese voices beter- which i feel makes the 6 episodes what they are-

Usually if I see the Series in Japanese I dislike the English voices, and Vica versa- with the exception of Harlock Saga. even thou they got a major japanese actor do the original voice, I love the English dub better.

This will also give some of us better choices in chosing animes we dont have yet- I dont have the options that some of you have, We dont have the anime network or other channels-- Thou Tech Tv. does have a few on at 2 in the morning ( when I last that long )

hi guyz, i just got some dvds frm a building in mongkok (along nathan road) where r lots of anime dvd shops. i think the building is called sino centre
e boxes of the dvds i got do not have any name or logo of any company
but when i was watching, a green logo sometimes pop out, looks like that of anime internation
so are my dvds from magna internation?

Well I wasn't sure where to put this, but I figure this is General babble so anything goes. Recently one of the only television shows that I actually give a rat's ass about has been cancelled. Angel has proven time and time again that it is one of the "smartest" shows on televison. Witty writing, great characters, and wonderful storylines make Angel a breath of fresh air.

I know that exist two version of Maze TV. Th first aired on Japan and distributed in USA on DVD (my friend has it), and other for home users available on Japanese LD.
Question is :
this box of Maze http://www.import-anime.com/index.php?pa...n=dosearch is the USA version or the Laserdisc director's cut version ?

LD contain a lot of naked scenes and more fan-service (mill-chan transformation during calling Dill-Guard, Maze when meet Landy on a lake, and other few modifications on all episodes)

Someone has idea so i can buy it ?

Does anyone know when the final MI set of DBZ Part 12 will be out? No one I can find has it.

Having just read the "Help" thread by timon, i realised that alot of you may not know the following!

You can play avi's on your TV not just by having to convert them to VCD but using a Dreamcast or PS2!
its soo much more better you can get more files and play time onto a CD with avi's then a VCD (esp SVCD's)

well some nifty programmers have made Media players for these Beautiful consoles (Dreamcast has never died in my heart, still an awesome console)!

I recommend using the Dreamcast one because its alot more easier plus you dont need a Modified Console unlike that of the PS2 (has to be Chipped,swapTrick,slidecard etc)

They all support a range of Codecs

For Dreamcast:
I Usually use Virtual Dub to reencode my avi's

The settings i usually use (to achieve optimally reduced file size with the quality)

Codec DivX v3 Fast Motion

(200-300kb, good for slow moving anime, eg azumangah Daoih, but still use fast moton coz file size tends to be smaller than using divx3 Low motion at same kb setting, plus less pixelation)

For top Quality video Use 300-450Kb, can use 500kb but looks the same as 450KB , also pixelation on fast movement is drastically reduced! (for example i borrowed I"s HK from my friend and encoded it and the Picture quality was nearly like that of the DVD, i was amazed. but SVCD quality is more realistic expectation at higher Kb)

NB you can use Divx 4.02 or up to DivX5.05, bt dont fiddle around with the settings too much and use the newest DivX5 release(you get mor errors) I just prefer v3 or v4 coz its easy to use


Bicubic Resize to 320x240 (though up to 496x496 is supported bt i dont recommend any higher) theres a wide screen setting i use but i cant remember it of the top of my head (d'oh)

Mp3 Audio Stereo at 11khz even 8 khz (pretty low i know, but i like to have small file size and using a Noise reduction filter the Sound is Good in my Opinion)
OR
Mp3 Mono at 22Khz (never use 44khz-then u can get freezes and the file size is larger)

Also DCDivX supports other sound formats NB no WMA support though , but i've never bothered trying em out also it is an MP3 player (nice bonus)

NB for those of you who have Realmedia files you want to encode into avi use EO video convertor Prog!(easier than tinra to use and supports higher versions than G2 conversion)

For those who want to rip DVD's into DC playable avi's use something like Flaskmpeg!

Also, want to educate some people on the term flat rate shipping.... it means it costs same amount for 1 dvd or 20 dvds... if you buy just 1 or 2 and complain to me that shipping is too high... should I turn around and complain to you when you order 20 titles and only pay 8 dollars? say that you didnt pay enough to cover the 25 dollars on shipping that I actually spent? nuff said...

Ive been collecting the one piece dvd collection from animation video for some time. I bought parts 1-4(which is Ep 1-128). Is that the newest episode available at the moment and when will the new ones come out??? Another thing that bothers me is in the latter part of the set, certain episodes are dvd rips while others are really bad TV rips. I can understand if they went all TV rips if dvd rips in those episodes werent available but the fact that they keep alternating quality means they just dont want to put the best kind out there. If anyone knows any info about this please tell me. Thx!!!
