Studio: Video Animation Episodes: 1-13 Video: 5/5 Crisp and clear, DVD sourced. Audio: 5/5 See video. Subtitles: 3/5 Subtitles were Engrishy, had Chinese names, although they were timed fairly well. The subs are also in this god-awful white font with drop shadows, making them hard to read. Chaptering: No chapter breaks, which means you have to fast forward and rewind through episodes. Major points off for this. Bonuses: None. Menus: Menus are still and silent but neat and in English. Content: Missing the Comic Party Special, but all 13 eps are there in their fullest. Impression: Get the MI set.

The picture and Audio were excellent. The engrish in the subtitles was a problem. This anime is a cute and witty look inside the hearts of Otaku. It needed excellent translations to understand all the little jokes. The storyline is so amazing that I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting this series. If you ever wanted to understand why otaku write fanworks and dress in silly costumes, then get this anime. Most of the characters are over-the-top otaku who show you many different types of fandom. This is one of the rare animes where the minor characters are just as exciting as the main characters (I loved his 1st customer and hopefully waited for her to reappear in the story). This anime even inspired me to buy manga from a Doujinshi artist at the anime convention in Chicago. Bruce Lewis one of the authors of "Juku a comics album" gave a lecture letting american otaku know that they too can publish manga in america. edited by Hanamichi on 18 Jun 2002 6:49 pm
