Comment:
Well, my opinion seems to differ greatly...
Video (2.5/5, 4/5) dear God, is this a VCD source? Video is VERY faded and rather poor for the first CD. Second is a lot better.
Audio (3.75ish/5) generally pretty good, but a few errors... when you notice things like that on my crappy sound setup, that's GOT to mean something.
Subs (4/5 for first few eps, quickly 2-3/5, depending on the ep) They start out alright, and just get progressively worse, to the point that I had to read scripts from elsewhere to even have the slightest clue what everyone was saying. When suddenly, they'd be alright for a few lines, then back to crap.
Packaging- (4.5/5) Nice, I like gatefolds. Good art, all around good presentation.
Disc Content- (4/5) A lot of eps. (NOT complete, damn those guys at MI...) A music video, interview with the animators, a textless ending (or opening, I've forgotten), and two voice-actor things (meet the stars and a day in the life seems to be the best description). A lot of episode openings, only one or two endings... BUT, the chapter breaks are (thank god) after each INSANELY long opening sequence, so you can skip them and still watch all of the episode, though there's only one break per ep (hey, they're damn short...)
Summary- Not a bad collection, pick it up if it's cheap. Course, if you want cheap, you can probably get the *complete* collection on VCD somewhere... Takes a while to warm up to (the DVD collection itself, not the series), but if you like DiGiCharat, it shouldn't take too long.
