With all the + sides of this film I would say the only down side I could find is the first sceen of the movie you almost get board with all the tecnical talk. The rest of the film more then makes up for this though

This is one of the best films of modern day cinema! Yes, you read right! Osamu Tazuka is my new GOD. Along with Rintaro. As soon as I watched this flick, I IMMEDIATLEY went out to buy the Harmegeddon dvd, and the Astro Boy manga. (I can't wait for the new Harmegeddon dvd to come out!) Too bad this HK dvd sucked... :^/ Video-- (2.5/5) Well..... -_- The video was VERY, VERY bad. It was really grainy and blurred. It's like AC picked it up, and threw it on a big, big beach! Then! They picked it up, and took a crap on it! THEN! They went BACK to the beach, and THREW IT IN THE WATER! THEN! They went back home, and they put it in a blender!! THEN! They... You get the point, right? Audio-- (4.5/5) Actually, I really liked the audio on this disc. It was very, very nice. Though, it could have been MUCH better, it was still nice. Subtitles-- (1.5/5) Yuk! >_ Content-- (5/5) As I said, this film is a classic, and should go down in the big, big book of anime classics. (If that exists... and, if it doesn't, it SHOULD.) Unfortunatly, the HK discs suck hard, and you should probably just buy the R1 or R2 dvd release. They are loads, loads better than this piece of donkey crap.

Sorry for the lame Akira refrence. Video: Not too hot. It's a bit on the grainy side, and definitly gets hurt from low bit-rate encoding. This is a very vibrant movie, with lots of colors and scenes of darkness, this doesn't go over well with low bitrate. Colors bleed left and right and you're left with an overall fuzzy picture. Not horrible by any means, but not one of the better HKDVDs I've seen as far as video is concerned. Audio: ...Typical two channel, slightly distorted. There are times during the movie where the audio breaks up and other times when it becomes scratchy. This is very distracting when it occurs. Luckily, it's not too often. Other than that, the audio gets the job done, but isn't especially memoriable. Subtitles: HK Originals, easy to follow, names are, of course, incorrect. Not bad by any means, actually pretty damn good for HKOs. Content: It's Metropolis, you'll love it, hate it, or think it's okay (that's any movie, no?) I will say it was a little boring, but does have some fantastic visuals (marred by color bleeding on this dvd.) and a very strange soundtrack (US Jazz Music). One thing must be said though - THE ENDING IS AWESOME.
