Video - 4/5 Very good picture quality except for one episode towards the end which has very bad VHS quality. Audio - 4/5 No audio problems Subs - 3.5/5 Very understandable subs. HK Originals but very good. Some names were wrong but that's all. Only 1 OP and 1 ED per disc edited by Femto821 on 06 Jul 2002 1:32 am

Zone of the Enders: Dolores, i PUBLISHER: Manga International DISC: 3 x DVD-5 CONTENT: Episodes 1-13 of 26, 30m episodes VIDEO: 4.0 AUDIO: 4.0 SUBS: 3.0 PACKAGING: 3.5 This set contains the first half of the Z.O.E Dolores, i TV series. I had been told this was a mediocre mecha show, but I decided to try it anyway. The show was much better than I expected, and I'd rcommend it to anyone. Anyway, the video quality was very good, an obvious DVD rip. I noticed some color compression artifacts, and some blockiness in a couple high-motion scenes, but overall it was quite good. One exception to this is episode 11, which for some reason was rather grainy, like it was from a different source. At first I thought they ran out of DVDs after 10, but 12 and 13 were back to the same quality as earlier episodes. I should point out that there is only one OP/ED per DVD, and chapter marks are there for the OP/ED, and each half of each episode. Audio-wise, the show was typical-clean clear audio (except ep 11 which had noticable hiss and no problems. Subs were HK originals, but pretty well done. They mangle the names, but they TRIED to get them right. Dolores became "Deluoreisu" then "Taolesi" then finally "DOLORES" Don't even ask me to tell you how they spelled "Orbital Frame" ^_^ However, the subs had pretty good grammar and were well-timed. Packaging was Manga's new economy-gatefold: a generic gate-fold cover and a custom outer sleeve. Nice art, though they spelled Dolores wrong (again) on the side. ^_^ Overall, I really enjoyed the show, and the technical quality of this release was pretty good. I will definitely be picking up the 2nd half once its released.

Zone of Enders, part 1 by Manga International. Audio: Excellent. 4.5-5.0 out of 5.0 Video: Direct rip from dvd except for either eps. 10 or 11 where it looks like a vhs or less transfer. Excellent video except mentioned episode. Subtitles: Very, very, easy to understand. Occasionally spelling errors but very good throughout. Biggest error was probably spelling Orbital Frame, Delores.
