Comment:

First off the video and sound are great there are no problems on the timing and everything is in sync. Now to discuss the true problem the subtitles...Disc 1 has excellent subtitles they have all the correct names and barely, if any, Engrish. However the same cannot be said of Discs 2 and 3. Disc 2 is horrible the names go completely out of whack and the Engrish reaches a new level. Its not too bad but bad enough to where you have to rewind to understand what they meant. The first 3 episodes on Disc 3 are again just like the ones on Disc 1 they are great but the same can be said of the 4th epsode that can be said of disc 2. All in all its quite nice if you can just ignore the bad subtitling for the 6 episodes that are off. Nothing wrong with the video at all. Crisp and clear throughout with no noticable pixelation.

Audio:

Not a problem at all with my 5.1 650W system

Subtitle:

Disc 1, definitely fansubs, eps 1-4 Disc 2, eps. 5 - 9, definitely translated from Chinese subs to English, resulting in Engrish. You get alot of "where are you on earth", instead of "where on earth are you". But a couple lines were totally unclear (total gibberish, does not make sense) to me until i switched over to the chinese subs. Names are all wrong except claude and rena. Disc 3, eps 10-12, fansubs again, but 13 is like disc 2, bad.

Comment:

Overall, a good buy if you can read chinese. not so good if you can't. if you can deal with a couple bad eps., some lines you have to guess the meaning.. In that case, you may be better off if you buy/download/borrow the fansubs. In regards to the series itself, I love it and is definitely worth picking up if you like the game.

Comment:

Disc one was perfect : Had excellent subs along with the video. Names had correct spelling. Disc two was horrible: Subs were understandable but made situations confusing. Excessive use of 'Engrish' here. Spellings for some of the characters like Ashton and Dias were all wrong. Disc three was good: Perfect subs for 3 of the 4 episodes. The last episode had the same kind of 'Engrish' subs used in disc two. Names had correct spelling for the first 3 episodes but were once again spelt wrong in the 4th episode. Overall, i would still recommend this anime if you think you can get by the 'Engrish'.
