Video:
AS the other reviews mentioned, it's a very good rip of a fairly old show - the colours can appear a little dull and soft. There is a little 'blockiness' during scenes featuring intense, white light and I experience about two 'pauses' during playback, but nothing really to complain about.
Tested on Pioneer 636 (RGB output) + QED RGB Scart (video only) cable + Hitachi 28" Flat-widescreen.
Audio:
Nothing to shout about, but clear with no distortion.
Tested on basic Sony Dolby amp.

Comment:
This is a fantastic series with some good, simple and old-fashioned storytelling. A good combination of action-adventure, emotion and humour. It's the sort of show I would rush home to watch if I was still a kid at school (much like I did with Mysterious Cities of Gold during the early 80s in the UK).
Nevertheless, there are a few dull episodes. The desert island adventure jars and is a complete wrench from the main storyline - the time isn't really used for much character development either. However, there is a fantastic homage to Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds during a dream sequence. I also thought the first 'Africa' episode, involving a rescue mission, was weak as was the 'singing' episode although one song, particularly the way it was sung, was hilarious. Although, these are minor complaints, I feel that I had to air them because they are so apparent - as soon as the main plot kicks in again, there's almost an audible click as your attention snaps into focus and a hitherto unnoticed fog clears.
Moans aside this is a wonderful series and a great set to boot, that is heartily recommended. Just think, out of this Evangelion was born.
