perfectly acceptable, too bad for the glitch in the first movie!...The second movie surely is sharper, and I noticed no glitches (tested with a JVC XVS-42)
Audio:
nothing to complain, it's ok

I've put an average for the package as a whole - I would score them 3 and 4 respectively. The first movie is showing its age, but is still clear enough. I'm assuming it's a R1 rip - it has English Manga Entertainment credits. There is one glitch towards the end of the film, which apparently was even on the R1 orginal. The second movie is a lot better, but it too has one glitch towards the end, which, although minor, is a little annoying. Tested on Pioneer 636 (RGB output) + QED RGB SCART (video only) cable. 4:3 JVC television.
Audio:
Clear, but unspectacular, for both movies. Tested on basic Sony Dolby Digital amp.

Comment:
Fantastic movies although not to everyone's taste. They might not even appeal to fans of the first Patlabor OAVs or Tv Series, particularly the second movie, which barely features the SV2 crew focusing instead on Goto and Nagumo. Both movies are slow-burning with more considered plots, which generally eschew Labor action sequences. The first movie has more action than the second, which is a more thoughtful political film, but I found the most poignant scenes were the ones without any dialogue, such as when the two detectives search the old ruined city. The look of the second movie is also different - the characters look less cartoon-like and more realised. I guess if you want perfect subs, go for the R1s. However, you should be able to pick up this for less than the price of one original.
