I had forgotten that I had this title in my library, I took it out and watched it and rediscovered how good it is. Here we find out how Lafiels parents meet and the circumstances that followed. Very highly recommended. Only problem it that it's been out of print for a long time so it might be quite difficult to locate a copy-no, you can't have mine.

Crest of the Starts: Birth - Anime Cartoon International Inc. DVD-204-E This is a side story of Crest of the Stars. In my opinion, this series is different from your standard anime series, both in story and character design. This series is one of my favorites. Birth is about how Raphel's parents meet and her birth. Video: Looked great in my Apex DVD player and Pioneer DVD-ROM. I think this is from a DVD source. Audio: Sounded great on my systems. Stereo. Content: Story about Raphel's parents meeting and having her. If you liked Crest of the Stars, then you definetly need to pick this up. Subs: The subs were good and very understandable. Some minor things were hard to understand, but it is pretty easy to figure it out. Overall: Once again, if you like Crest of the Stars, then pick this up. My only complaint is that it is short.

At 25 minutes long, this definitely is a "lost" episode of the Crest of the Stars series. It's about the adventure Lafiel's parents have exploring an abandoned ship they discover while they are away from official duty, and it ends with their decision to have a child together, how to raise her, why they gave her her name, and finally sending her to fetch Jinto. As far as Video goes, I liked the colors and details, but I noticed grain and ghosting, so I'd give it a 3.75/5. The audio sounded perfectly fine, at least from those tiny Sanyo TV speakers of mine. 5/5 Whether they're HK originals or fansubs, the subs are almost perfect. They look like they're by the same people who subbed AC/MI's "Crest of the Stars" Season 1 set, as the choice of translations of the names are about the same ("Lamhirh" and "Ghint"). No noticeable mis-spellings or glaring grammar errors. I only saw one sentence that I would want to change. Nice. 5/5 It's not imperative to the story of Crest of the Stars, but it's nice to have if you're a fan of the series. Don't get me wrong, an excellent dvd. But only 20 plus minutes????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That sucks

(its about how lafiels parents got together) its pretty short but worth its money when you are a fan of the seires :) video and audio are very good, subs are good also, compareable to the other sekai hk dvds

Video: 4.5 Excellent video. Definitely ripped of region 2 DVD. Clear and sharp like other MI Crest of Star releases. Audio: 4.5 No problems here. Very good audio Subs: Very good HK originals. Subtitle quality is very simlar to other COS releases. This is a prequel to the COS series. The OAV focuses more on the ABH and Lafiel's past. The story begins with some history of the abt and ends with Lafiel getting on board to pick up Jinto. Contains only one OAV but a must for COS stars like me. Probably there will be no U.S. release. Got mine for 5 bucks. R2 probably 40 dollars. Very well recommended for COS fans.
