Video:
Video was awesome on this release. I didn't notice any drop in quality through out it. Even in the heavy action scenes the video held up, even with insane amounts of motion going on. Video is excellent.
Audio:
Sound comes through crisp and clear. The reason I dropped in by a half of point is because it's too low. I had to turn my TV up twice as loud then on other releases to get a decent volume level. While a bit annoying to remember to lower the volume before turning the DVD off (:P), the sound still is good and can be heard perfectly.

Comment:
This OVA is definetly one of Go Nagai's best works, and one of my all time favorite animes. Still to this day I hold it as the best representation modern Super Robot. Combining everything from the classic series with a modern day story that's a bit on the complicated side. This series is pretty stand alone. If you've seen the other 3 Getter Robo shows, all you get is the benefit of knowing the characters and attacks, and also being able to point out the million of homages. Many people felt this destroyed Getter Robo with it's high content of violence and over the top story. But that's exactly what Go Nagai had envisioned for Getter Robo, before network execs had other plans.
I'd like to also mention that the subtitles themselves aren't the main source of confusion on this show. It's the story. ALL questions are answered in the last few episodes. Until then, you get semi true answers and down right lies. It's a very confusing story, but after watching it a few times, you'll get everything down perfectly.
As for this DVD release itself...
It's one three discs. First and third contain four episodes, second one has five, for the grand total of the full thirteen episode OVA. The packaging is nice, but there's something I didn't catch on my first time looking at it. The three disc holder's background art has email address all over it. They are a bit hard to see. Like I said, didn't catch it when viewing the inside the first few times. But they are hidden in the art. It makes the art a little ugly, but it's hardly noticeable.
Each episode is a single chapter. This includes everything. Even the emotion logo on the first episode. I thought it was skippable, but when the second episode started playing I knew I was wrong :P Something I loved that they kept in was the little "Emotion 15th Anniverasy Original Video Animation" dealy that is shown before each episode.
The menus on the disc are your basic HK ones. A column on the left has your basic options (Play All, Subtitles, Chapters). Then the right side and some of the bottom are pictures.
Each episode consists of opening, show, ending, next episode preview. Both openings and endings are present. Both openings are subbed (very well, might I add), and only the first ending is. All the next episode previews are subbed, too.
Now, there's the question some are pondering: which set? The MAC one is an R1 rip, with missing subs. This one has all it's subs, but aren't as good as an R1 release. MAC's ADV rip has overlays. This one's video is clean.
Listening to the dub is not an option here. Anyone who would prefer the dub over the original Japanese version of this show should be shot. Interesting tid bit: the Japanese VA of Ryoma yelled so loud while recording that once he started to cough up blood. Dedication I assure you won't find in the English dub.
You're choice, though. Either way, I highly recommend this anime for all Super Robot fans!!
