video -- very good, only a bit unsharper than the us-rc1 audio -- good, it contains jap-2.0-stereo and 5.1-DTS subs -- good, not the junk like "AS" does RESULT: a very fine movie and a good ripp! The video and audio were very good but the subtitles really impacted my enjoyment of the movie. The grammer and word selection make the movie hard to understand. My other problem with the subs is with the Chinese names. Content: The Movie takes on a more serious tone then the OVAs, and the fewer comical moments it has are restricted to the first part. It also gives us a glimpse of Belldandys childhood... subsequently revealing what had caused the present situation. Audiences will also be treated to a more in-depth look at the goddesses' home (Your average idea of heaven combined with cutting-edge technology). They use complex computer systems to run things, and become helpless when Celestin plants a virus that takes the network down. The goddesses also get to show off their great powers in spectacular fight scenes, proving that they are more than just pretty faces. For a greater appreciation of this movie, watch the OAV series first. This film assumes that you already know the main characters. Overall, unless you are strapped for cash or my version of the DVD was an older version...I suggest you buy the American version.

Hi the video and audio are excellent. I have watched AMG ovas before so i have the background. There is nothing much to nit pick at the subs. However the subs failed to convey the movie properly to me. Perhaps they lacked the depth. I'm still quite blur with regards to the movie. Or is this some type of Lain and NGE confusion???

Although I've never seen the OVA, "Ah! My Goddess: The Movie" inspired me to persue it. Video: (4/5) The storyline was very good and the transformation sequences were breathtaking (I have a soft-spot for good-hearted angel transformations). I got all mushy over the bond between the main angel (I already forgot her name :s ) and the main guy (and I forgot his, too :s ). They're such a cute couple!!! Very inspiring. Audio: (4/5) I didn't see anything wrong with the audio. Good quality. Subtitles: (4/5) Good subtitles, too ^_^ Grammatically correct is always a plus!!! Title: Ah! My Goddess # of dvd: 1 # of eps.: movie (complete) Video (4.5/5): Great video! Definitely R2 rip. The picture is so clear and the color is intact (no rainbowing etc.). Cool video!! Audio (4/5): Great audio! The soud is crisp and clear. The are no problem whatsoever with the audio. In the menu, there is an option for 5.1 Dolby Digital soud, don't know if it really works tho I'm only using my tv speakers. Subs (2.5/5): Bellow average! This set got crappy subtitles. The grammar is kinda weird and they used some weird words (engrish!). In some scenes, the subtitles have good grammar with good words choice but the meaning is totally different with the dialog (maybe bacause the translation was too literal?!). And finally, the names are messed up! Chinese names! Packaging: 1 DVD case package! (don't care tho!) Overall: It's an okay set if you don't care about the subs ^_^.
