Overall:
Video:
For a show 25+ yrs old it's very good.
Audio:
The audio sounded fine. No dropouts or distortion noted. Again for an older show this isn't bad.
Subtitle:
The subs have a lot of engrish in them but are pretty understandable. This being a mecha show aimed at the younger audience it isn't heavy on complex dialogue. The main complaint is the timing issue. Lines are often mistimed and mismatched with the characters speaking them. I timed it; for curiosity; and the subs were off almost 30 secs in parts. This problem is mostly in the latter part of disc 2 most of disc 3 and parts of the 4th one.
Comment:
Each ep is 1 chapter so you have to fast fwd through the credits. The menus on discs 1&2 are identical and show the same eps even though they are not really. Also on the discs 1-4 there is 1 screw up per disk that the chapter are screwed up. An example is you pick chapter 5 and you start in the middle of chapter 4. After that all the chapters are off by one with the last one containg 2 full eps. So to watch that one you'll have to fast fwd through 1 whole ep. If you like mid 80's mecha shows that the good guys fight off wave after wave of pilotless robot ninjas and samurai "from space" then this show just might be for you.
