Reviews for Elfen Lied TV Perfect Collection
Video:
Audio:
Subtitles:

Overall:

Video:

Episode split is 10 on disc one and 3 on disc two The video is of good quality I didn't notice any problems. I assume the first disc is a DVD9 and the second a DVD5.

Audio:

No sound quality worries here I liked the soundtrack, the English dub is good also.

Subtitle:

This is not a rip of the EZdvd set and it shows. I checked the English subs in every epoisode since I know they were messed up in the EZ release and in this MAC set they are all most flawless including times when the EZ set had mistakes like timing in the first episode and cut off lines in some of the later episodes. The one mistake I noticed in this set was in the first episode where there were a lot of signs on screen for a short scene and in said scene the lines for the character dialague didn't show up. The spelling is good of course as subs are taken from the R1 source as is normal for a Perfect Collection.

Comment:

Notes* *Comparisons for subs made are from the first EZ perfect collection of Elfen Lied and if there is a remaster of of the EZ set I don't know of it. *I watched this series on a COBY brand DVD player (DVD-224 model) with AV cable on a 25 inch RCA TV. The series it self: Before I watched it I worried that Elfen Lied got the hype that it did because of the gore and nudity factor. But thankfully along with the intense content comes a solid plot, likeable characters and a great soundtrack. Even though Elfen Lied manages not to feel rushed it at the same time felt like it could have gone on longer then 13 episodes and it's to bad it didn't. highly recommended. :)
