Video:
The video on these discs is not as bad as some previous sets but far worse than others. The first disc is a DVD-9 containing 13 episodes while discs two and three are DVD-5s and contain 6 and 7 episodes respectively. This basically amounts to too many episodes being squeezed onto each disc and the results are pretty ugly. MPEG noise is visible even in still scenes, becoming even worse with movement of any kind. The only good thing I can say about the video is that colours are bright and don't look washed out at all.
Audio:
All episodes have both English and Japanese language tracks. However the japanese track is slightly mistimed on all three discs so the sound gets later as you progress through the episodes. Even at its worse it's never off by more than a second but for me anyway it's still enough to ruin some of the best action scenes.

Comment:
Well these are the final discs in MAC's series of DBZ R1 rips and it's probably just as well. Quality has been going seriously downhill in the last couple of sets and I don't think I could stand to see it get any worse. In this set's favour, it does have the complete opening, intro, and ending on every episode and it uses the original japanese episode title cards rather than the english ones for a change. But the poor video quality and particularly the mistimed sound just kill the whole thing for me.
