On my widescreen TV, there is noticible pixelation throughout the show. Dark scenes, action scenes, and scenes where a lot of one solid color is on screen all had noticible break-up or pixelation. Not that the overall video quality was asstastic or anything, but there were problems to be sure. The video is anamorphic widescreen, and most of the rest of the series (besides the areas I just described) do look pretty sharp... Just not 5-star perfect.
Audio:
An English track, a Japanese stereo track, and a Japanese 5.1 DTS track! The DTS track is what I listened to and it's good. Not much rear-directionality, but nice and crisp and booming when it's supposed to be. I spot checked the other tracks and they are there.

Comment:
A really fun series. It's like an animated Godfather or Goodfellas. A mob story that follows a few young punks as they rise through the ranks of a large mob family. It starts out kind of weak (the main characters seem fairly pathetic in the beginning), but if you stick with it you'll see a fulfilling story filled with bullets, betrayal, and babes... Well, maybe not too many babes, but lots of the other two. Once the story takes off you just get hooked. Things don't always work out like you'd think, and the plot really keeps you on your toes. I'd give the storyline a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

The video quality in this title is great. The animation style was pretty good as well.
Audio:
I only watched this in English but the audio was great. The voice acting was pretty good except for a couple of characters

This series was a lot different than what I was expecting. I think I saw one episode of this on TV (first episode I think) which seemed all futuristic and had a Hellsing atmosphere surrounding it. Well low and below this title is more like present day with the story focusing around the mob. At first I was thinking what the hell..... did they stick the wrong episodes on this disc from some other title? (Literially it was like watching Highlander 1 and 2, you'll see a difference!) I progressed further and found out I really liked this title. It's about a group of small time punks who want to move up in the world of the mob. Their story is really good and you find yourself pulling for them to make it all the way to the top (I know that's bad "Go kids go, kill and become #1!!!" haha). Another great thing about this title is that it spans the lives of these punks from the years of 16 or 17 all the way to around their late 40s/early 50s so it really covers a lot more time than most titles do. All I can say is if you liked the Godfather (1 and 2, if you liked 3 you are nuts :)) then you will like this series. Also if you are not old enough for a rated R movie, then this series is probably not for you.

I saw this set has no pixelation at all or any other problems while viewing this set which is always a good thing so as I?ve said many times before there?s nothing to distract from the enjoyment of this show.
Audio:
The audio for this set was loud and clear no problems from what I heard so there really isn?t anything to worry about. The dub was quite good but I kept picturing Lupin the 3rd every time young Harry said anything because they have the same voice actor.

Comment:
This series was a lot better than I expected after seeing the first episode subbed a while back and not liking it at all at the time. I ended up getting this because people kept recommending it to me including my niece and I am personally happy that I listened to them. But I must say one thing this series was a lot more bizarre than I figured it would be but it?s also has a darker nature to it id say which is something I haven?t been able to find much of in the past which has been quite disappointing. I heard some where that I believe it was the creator of Trigun made this but I don?t know the exact details every time I pictured it an extremely dark version of Trigun kept coming to mind but make no mistake Gungrave is not comedic it?s a very serious series and actually kind of a sadder atmosphere series as well so if your looking for something like Trigun this is the wrong show. To be simple it was quite enjoyable and I defiantly intend to keep it in my personal collection for future viewings.
