When I first put in this disc, and seen that MAC had put 16 episodes on disc 1 (which was luckily dual layer) I was already cursing them and about to throw a fit. Naturally I expected putting this many episodes on a disc, even a dual layer disc would be a complete disaster... but to my suprise the overall age of the show hid the over compression quite well, discs 2 and 3 have a similar number while discs 4 and 5 are dvd-5. I wont say the video quality is wonderful though, because even animeigo's official release looks like a laserdisc with beefed up resolution.
Audio:
Its mono, its 80's, its Japanese, what else can I say? The songs are very well done and all the voices fit there characters, a stereo remix would have been nice though.

Comment:
MAC actually done a fairly decent job on this set mainly because being such an old show it can take compression pretty well and not show it... but as for alot of there newer series recently... thats a different story altogether. The only major flaw from this set was the source material that MAC used... and please read this and let me explain. The original KOR discs that Animeigo released and the ones, that are on shelves now are different. The original discs which MAC used for this master did not have opening credits before each episode, and the ending credits after each episode. Each disc opened up to an intro, had a compact outro attached to it, and you could watch the full length outro in the extras. Animeigo offered a free optional recall exchange which ended July 05 which corrected the intro/outro problem that many fans had complained about, but obviously MAC had already done the set by then and simply didn't care to redo it. All in all this is a good set considering the age of the series, this series for whatever reason reminds me of many of the whacky antics in Ranma 1/2, a must pick up for all comedy/romance fans!
