Long and short its basically the same as the FX release. The series is decent... basically the Jesus story but with vampires... (as opposed to the christian which just involves drinking blood, dieing and comming back to life to walk the land under the title of nobality... *rolls eyes*) Iscariot Organization (Jedus Iscariot) and the scene of him ending pinned in cross shape by the spades... Telling Victoria to drink of his blood... (last supper referance).. Incognito... the one without a name (The devil) from the Dark Continent (Hell) and his whole speech about serving humans (the last temptation). The ova comming out at years end 2005/ early 2006 is suppost to be truer to the manga... but if you are a fan of the manga then this series is worth a watch to see the characters animated if nothing else... its not as dark and funny... and some of the 3D scenes are a bit hoaky... but by and by Alucard is a bad ass character no matter who directs the animation. Also just to set the record strait... Alucard is Dracula backwards... but the name Alucard is an old Germanic name which predated the Dracula/ Vlad legend (infact it predated the man they based the legend on and translates roughly into "Fire of Heaven". God is Dog backwards... go out and by a puppy if you're going to jump to conclusions. Then you can put it in a bag and step on it "Cause the Dead Shine All Night Long" - Genesis: Suicide Circle

This is very popular and if your a fan and dont know i'll tell you that there is said to be a Hellsing OVA out in 2006 so keep your eyes out for that. By the way what does ALUCARD backwords spell?

What can i say, Has to be my favourite anime so far. I loved the character Alucard and i loved the voice of him on the english audio version. Im not a fan of watching things in japanese so its great to see perfect voice actors like this. Plus the fact that its set in england it makes sense for them to be english. If you hadnt noticed Alucard is Dracula backwards something that i thought was really cool. Its just a great anime, some of the battles could have been a bit more epic but its only a tiny problem. The other thing that worrys me is its rumoured that the second series isnt going to have the same voice actors, this sucks big time and there is a petition to try and voice the opinion of many. This was one of the best series I have ever seen. It has a great storyline and plenty of action and suspense. Highly recommended.

This is a dark action vampire series. The voice acting is pretty good (it takes place in the UK and the Brittish people actually sound Brittish for once), the action pretty solid, and the plot rather compelling. The only downside to this series is that the ending leaves much to the imagination. The series was shown late night in Japan, and there was little interest for a gorey series like this. However, it did extremely well in the States and in Europe, so it was released as a Perfect. And don't think the ending is a downfall. Because of it's popularity, a sequal was announced to finish the excellent storyline.
