This was only slightly better than my fansub. The story is darker than the games and thus everything seems to look poor on the HK version.

First of all let me say I love Sakura Wars, it's my absolute favorite. I own all the games, most of the live performances and this DVD set would have given me an almost perfect collection...but it didn't. Picture 4/5: Almost perfect with little pixelation. Sound 5/5: Beautiful! The songs are crisp. Subtitles 3/5: Not that great, some episodes use a perfect fansub script (I know this because I watched them before on my computer), while others are poorly translated (names and other things are messed up ex. Sakura=Ying) Other 1/5: I have no idea why this set came on 4 DVDs, the intros and endings are cut from 99% of the episodes (intro only for 1st ep; ending only for last ep. of each disc). To make matters worse half an episode is missing (I believe it's ep.18 - the Cinderella ep). Like I said there was no reason to put this set on 4 DVDs except to make more money ($30 would have been a lot less painful for an imperfect set than $40). Overall 3/5: It's not a horrible set, but as a Sakura Wars fan I would have liked it to be better.
