Most of the time the video is flawless, but there was some pixelation at the beginning of Disc 1 and later some heavy pixellation by episode 23 or 24; there's also some horizontal lines during high-speed scenes but the video quality remains consistant.
Audio:
Both the english and japanese language tracks are fine, no hisses or noises found.

Last Exile is perhaps Gonzo's greatest work. It has a great story and soundtrack and memorable characters. A Highly recommended anime with its blend of cel animation and computer generated effects.

The visuals of Last Exile are a stunning blend of 2d and 3d animation with insane amounts of detail throughout the entire series (unlike some series that are incredible for the first two episodes then go downhill from there). Lucky for us this release keeps up a decent bit-rate and you get to see the entire series in vivid colour with only the smallest hint of pixellation during one or two scenes.
Audio:
What great sound this has too... from the shrieking of the wind to the quiet lull inbetween scenes everything is captured in beautiful stereo sound.

This is one of those milestone anime series that everyone should see regardless of what types of shows they prefer to watch. The characters all have great amounts of depth. The story has numerous sub-plots that are all worth paying attention to. The animation is visually stunning. It's hard to find flaws with the story. Too bad FX has been shut down for the time being (possibly permanently) and no other company has stepped up to the plate with quality releases like this. Only time will tell.

I noticed some pixelation in the opening credits of episodes 1-4 and in the ending credits of the last DVD. However, the video quality of the anime itself is immaculate!

The audio for this series is simply great.

Last Exile is the best anime I've ever seen. The story is original and very interesting, the characters are charismatic, the animation is superb and the music is truly epic. Gonzo should celebrate its 10th aniversary more often!

The few errors that are present on this set are passing and almost non existant. colors are clean an crisp
Audio:
This is the best part of this series the audio has no errors that I could find. The music from opening theme song to the end credits fits the series extremely good.

I would definately rank this series as a top five of anime series that have come out in the last ten years. every once in a while a series comes out that captivates you and your imagination, this series definately does that. The series fleshes out the character very good even the semi role player type ones you come to understand ones like Mullen the Musketeer and Pity Dio who is tring to escape who he is. Some series you watch once and don't care if you see again or not, this series is one that is worth seeing over. A+ a must pick up

Saw this in 27" screen. Couple of times I noticed pixelation, usually in scenes when they're flying through heavy wind. Pixelation didn't last for more than a second.
Audio:
Only watched in English audio and had no problems with that. I wasn't annoyed with any of the voice actors. I thought Dior did an excellent job. Al kept reminding me of Chi from Chobits but she is so cute anyway.

This is a great set from FX. I really enjoyed watching it. I was still left some questions by the end (not too mind boggling but it would have been nice know) The action was good and the characters I loved. The action and relationships between the characters are what this set so good. I really recommend Last Exile.

All 26 episodes spread over three DVDs with an 8/9/9 split in glorious anamorphic widescreen. I must say that I was expecting a fair amount of pixellation with this set, but I was pleasantly surprised! Sure, there are a few problems, some pixellation appears during the OP and ED credits (on the first 4 eps), and there is a strange glitch in the credits when the OP changes slightly towards the end of the series. Apart from that, there is NO weird blockiness that can appear in other FX sets, and the action scenes look superb... in fact, during the actual episodes, the video looks really impressive!
Audio:
No problems with the audio here! Japanese and English stereo tracks are both present and sound great even on my limited setup.

Comment:
Extras for all discs are the usual Geneon trailers. Menus are all like the R1 ones (I've seen the first few) and animated. One problem in this set is the wandering chapter marks (especially on disc 3) which can be out by a few seconds. Not a HUGE problem... just a niggle. I've been waiting for this set for AGES!!! So, I ordered it as soon as I saw it and I haven't regretted it. This has to be one of the best FX sets that I've seen, and I recommend this set to any anime fan who wants to see an action-packed adventure!!!
