Hmmmmmm... after some recent FX sets, this is a slight step back. When there isn't much happening on screen, the picture looks fantastic. But, when there is action, the blockiness returns to haunt us. See screenshots for some examples of this. Of course, you'd think that episode distribution might account for this, especially on the first disc which has 5 eps at 45mins each (almost 4 hrs over all). However the other two discs with 4 eps each also suffer from the same problem. Not too bad, considering the price, but it's there. Video is 16:9 anamorphic widescreen.

I'm a dub man, me! So I listened mostly to the English track, which sounded fine and correctly synched. Spot checks of the Jap track at least confirmed its existence!

Comment:
Here be the extras list: DVD 1- Trailers for Twelve Kingdoms and Babel 2, DVD 2- Figure 17 promo collection and trailer for Jungle Emperor Leo (widescreen), DVD 3- 2.5min interview slot (with music guy) and an Invader Zim trailer (Woo hoo!!!)
Having 45min episodes was an interesting choice for an animated series, but I'm not entirely convinced that it was the right choice. IMO this slowed the story somewhat, however it is nicely animated. But I'm not here to do a story review, just a disc review so- buy with caution. Go get your story review elsewhere... go on! There are plenty of places for that!!!
