Peter has given a long/detailed review. I`ll just add on to his. (Maybe my review is all you`ll need to get a good description of DITBB) The sku# on my dvd set is D0807Z. I believe it`s the same as the one listed in I-A. The DVDs come with a clear plastic dvd case and there is a holder in the middle for the third disc. There is also a cardboard cover for the DVD case which fits over nicely. Anime ends in 24 eps. 8 episodes on each disc including a whole episode on preview/recap plus interviews about the second half of the anime between eps 14 and 15. Also, there are chapter breaks for everything. Opening/Part A/Part B/Ending/Preview. DITBB is an anime which does wonders to the eyes. Set in a future like scenery accompanied with anime girls with different and colourful hair and also an eye candy wardrobe. The street clothes that the main female characters wear would look excellent in real life especially Yuu`s outfit which features a cowboy look. The girls` fighting/action clothes are more to the revealing side, but quite affective in terms of their mobility. The head main character named Maya is quite a smart girl. But in terms of events she seems to be goofy. There were many times I burst out laughing whenever anything happens to her especially when she slid across the ground face first with body lifted up when she was near an explosion. An excellent anime to watch. Pretty good ending for an anime. A well developed ending.

Looks to me like a TV rip copied to a VHS and then recopied to a DVD because the graphic were never really crisp and clean, it was always grainy.I didn't find any vertical lines in it. There is a few pixellation in the opening scene and during some fight scene when Gloria shots with her guns. Sometimes, the screen is either brighter or darker than usual. Not very good quality sometimes The one thing I especially like in Daphnee in the brilliant blue is the girls fighting costume. They all look good in it, Yuu has basically a g-string costume with a small poutch covering her private parts. Gloria costume is almost the same as Rushuna Tendou from Grenadier (Drool). Shizuka and Rena panties looked like a g-string diaper or a chastity belts. Maya is cute in white, she barely wears anything. My imagination was going wild in this one. Ovrerall, could have been better ut watchable

Daphnee in the brilliant blue was a very good anime however at first I thought it would ressemble the Burn Up series but it wasn't really the case. It mostly involves Maia in search of the truth, she gets in every impossible situation and her Nereids friend comes to save her when she screws up. There are a few episodes like Burn Up but most episodes in a one character situation to another. Here's a list of the character's in it Maya: She lost her memory when she was young, now she trying to find out the truth about herself, her family, her hometown. She gets in Nereids in a weird way but she seems very unlucky because nothing goes her ways, she's clumbsy and always get into trouble Rena: The leader of Nereids, when somebody gets late or breaks things, she deducted the pay of the employee no matter what the reason. She the kind of girl who wants something, she gets. She goes as far as sleeping with the captain of the police division either for special favor or get the control of a special case. She's pretty strict and somebody knows what's on her minds. She might cared for you or ignore you completely Shizuka: The brain genius, she greats with computer and fixing electronic stuff She a beauty who's doesn't like her stuff getting trashed like Miyuki from the You're Under Arrest series. She trust Maya, but if you steal her stuff, she'll go on a rampage Gloria: The gun freak, just give a gun, a bazoka or a uzi machine, she goes wild like Maya in the Burn Up series. She doesn't really get along with Yuu She's one dangerous lady Yuu: The rebel of the group, she's lose her mind and create mayhem around her The hell with rules, let's go kick bad guys butt, a beauty who's dark side might send you to the hospital for a while. She's the one that keeps Gloria from going to far Tsukasa: Maya's best friend The storyline really is about Maya fiding her lost memory and all the truth about her past. She's looking for her brother but she's doesn't if he's still alive or not. People tries to kill her without knowing why ??? All the answer to her question will be found in her homeland if she finds it Maybe Maya isn't her real name, only fiction (Hummmmmm) There are some episodes where all 5 of them works together, fun to see With Gloria and Yuu, who's know what will happen in the battleground. All 5 girls are sexy as hell, maybe the bad guys will get a nosebleed just watching them Poor Maya, she really gets unlucky in the first episode. She goes to her exams of enrolling to the ocean department but she failed. She didn't renew her house morgage and she already packed her stuff. everything her house knowing she'll pass the test in flying color. Now, she's homeless and needs to find a job, she's needs one badly but can't find one. Then she gets kidnapped and while Rena and Shizuka tried to rescue her, Rena decide to shoot her (like when Alucard shot Victoria in Hellsing) so she would also get the bad guys. Seriously, I thought she was dead after just one episode. The ending was okay but I was expecting more than that Overall, Daphnee In the brilliant blue was great, if you liked action, sexy ladies, explosion, mayhem, solving mystery, underwater battle, warship, submarines.
