Video:

Great pictures no problem whatsoever for the DVD. Animation is rather mediocre for 2004 production but as this is a drama anime so you can't really expect anything flashy.

Audio:

Decent voice acting. Kippei and Yuzuyu's voice acting are very good but Kokoro's sound is very stiff. Even though her personality is like that but the voice is still unsuitable in my opinion... The voice similar to Rei from Evangelion would suit her personality much better.

Subtitle:

I was skeptical to acquire this set coz as you all know HK DVDs sometimes have very scary subtitles and as there are no reviews up here for me to check yet for this title I was scared to purchase this set.. but my passion to watch this anime overcame the fear of bad subtitles. Thank god this set has very decent subtitles. Names are correct.. no annoying Chinese names to ruin audiences' mood. The translation is always sensible all the time.. Of course, to give 5 is impossible as it still does not match the quality of FX set (in which that is my standard for 5 points in subtitles as the language used in the subtitles are sophisticated English) but I would have to say that the subtitles in this set will not put anyone off from watching it.. It is extremely decent to summarize.

Comment:

At first I was scared to watch this anime thinking that it is a paedophiliac love story between a high school boy and a 5 years old girl. But then as I heard more about it that it was not like that I gave it a try. It is a touching story and character development is phenomenally and realistically portrayed. Kippei developed a sense of responsibility taking care of Yuzuyu and he becomes more and more mature. It is much more of a fatherly type of love that he has to Yuzuyu.. And you also get to understand the feeling of a 5 years old girl whom her mother is away and she is left alone in the world at a very dependent age. It is an extremely good drama.. Definitely not for everyone.. If you watch animes for action, supernatural powers, or watching girls with big boobs then this anime will not appeal to you.. but if you are after a touching and magnificent story I cannot recommend this anime enough.
