Video:
Not as crisp and clear as DVD video but seeing as it was likely taken from a TV airing and not from a another DVD it's good. A few dark scenes looked a little frizzy, minor but still noticeable. There is a bluring effect during some of the action scenes, since it's kinda cool looking I assume it's supposed to be there. :)
I had some skipping on episode 12 it was not bad enough on my stand alone DVD player for me to feel the need to ask for a replacment. But it is the kind of glitch that will freeze up not just skip on a PS2 or low grade/older DVD player. It's likely that it is just my set that has the glitch but if you only have a low grade player, you better be careful that you have options to return this set if you buy it.
Audio:
Good sound quality and great soundtrack. I can't tell very well if voice acting is good or not unless it's in English, I guess that at least means I don't hate it.

Notes*
*I watched this series on a COBY brand DVD player (DVD-224 model) with AV cable on a 25 inch RCA TV
*Also checked it some on a PS2 (50001 model)
The series it self:
Madlax is from the same people that made Noir. In my view Noir had an almost perfect mix of action, character and plot. Compared to Noir, Madlax is much more plot focused and it spends less time on character and action. I like the characters in both series a lot but the lack of action in Madlax so far is a bit disappointing.
Even so Madlax is well done and worth seeing even if it does not change much in the second half. Oh and please note that Madlax not a sequel to Noir it just has a similar style to it.
