There were some pixelation throughout the series. However nothing too bad to really get you irritated.
Audio:
No problems with the audio, nice crisp clear sound.

Comment:
This may be a very high action series, but be aware that the action scenes are not well done. Compared to Rurouni Kenshin or Naruto, the fighting scenes can look pretty lame.

Noticed pixelation about 6 or 7 times throughout the whole series. Lasted about a second. Most were during fast action scenes and once in a slow moving scene.
Audio:
Only watched the english dub - Great audio. Somewhere during the series, it got pretty loud compared to other HK english dubs I've seen. This happened starting one of the episode in the middle of the series. Was great for me since I like watching dvd's really loud.

The chapter breaks were kinda off. Whenever I'm watching and hit next chapter, it didn't go to where I expected it to go. Like if I wanted to skip the theme song, I expect to go straight into the beginning of the episode but instead I get the last scene of the theme song. Not really a big deal, but kind weird. Fun series to watch - Not really mind boggling or anything. Fight scenes were okay; kinda lame how they just have animals coming out of their swords instead of seeing a lot of sword movements - I found myself watching it to see what would happen to the characters.

Next to X, this is probably the most satisfied I've been with a FX set's video quality. There may be slight macroblocking like the other reviewers have said... although I only noticed it in the opening and very very few times in an episode. There are lots of very intense effects in this anime and from what I saw they are shown flawlessly. There were no skips, lock ups, color problems or any of the things I dislike, in this set. I'd have to say it's pretty deserving of being called a perfect collection.
Audio:
The audio was loud and clear the whole time. Best I've seen so far I think. No skips, synch, or any problems that I could notice at all. I watched mostly in the English audio track.

Extras: 4/5 I would like to have seen outtakes on all the DVDs instead of just on the first one. That's kind of screwy especially when you select "outtakes" on the second dvd and it shows a trailer, a very cheesy trailer I might add. The interview on the last DVD was a pretty nice addition. Though, in the place of the cheesy trailer on disk to they could've put outtakes. There was also a trailer in the extras in disk 2, so the trailer in "outtakes" was completely unnecessary. Can't complain too much though, at least there are extras. This anime would definately fall into my personal top 5. It's easy to get dragged right into the story in hopes of clearing up your confusion, or testing a personal theory of what will happen next and of the secrets of Kyo and Kyoshiro. I'd give the anime itself a 4.5/5. The ending may not answer all your questions, as it did not mine. I highly recommend this set.

There's pixealation and macroblocking throughout the entire set, in fast moving scenes . I noticed this specially in my Widescreen 16:9 TV...in my standard 4:3 it was much less noticeable , but it was still there. I'd have to say that the video quality and problems is very similar to the Chobits FX set. It's presented in anamorphic Widescreen I have to say that this is not one of FX better works.
Audio:
I noticed some minor desynchronization in a spot, for maybe 5 seconds in DVD1 (Japanese Audio) Apart from it no problem. Standard Stereo sound.

It is sad that I have to begin this review off with such a poor rating. Within the first few moments of begining this anime you will begin to notice the macroblocking. Note that the macroblocking is not as bad as in some other hk sets, however it seems to allways be present durring any kind of action, which this series is primarily about. On a high def setup you will notice a lot of pixilation arround any kind of solid line, which will break up even more so when the camera pans or on screen elements move. On a low def system (normal tv) you will notice a lot less, but it will still be evident by lines that are not solid, but are jagged and broken. Also, this set is interlaced, so if you have a dvd player that has problems with that, then take note.
Audio:
No breakup or skips, however I did notice some fade out. I found myself adjusting the volume as the sound came in and out.

Comment:
As for the box, it is well designed, with a nice cover, inside pictures, and dvd silkscreens. This box follows the recent string of released sets that have been breaking away from their "standardized" design (which notes # of episodes and disks on a bar at the bottom). What are you doing, FX? Stop sitting on your thumbs. Your supposed to be the best, but lately you guys are being extra sloppy. Please remaster this set. It is a huge disapointment that this series I have so looked forward to seeing was presented so poorly. I am posting some screenshots for this set, so be sure to check them out.
