Video:
I'll say it up front: this is the same as the FX version. In other words there is some blocky-ness especially when things move fast and the blocky-ness is worst on disk 1. So if you are the picky type you might want to avoid this MI version and the FX version as well for that matter. Even though the video is less then perfect it's still very watchable and not that big a deal.
Audio:
This part was done right with great quality sound. Witch is important since the soundtrack is fantastic! I also enjoyed the english dub.

Notes* *Even though this set is listed as having episodes 1-25 on this site and others. there are all 26 episodes included. *This set is the same as the FX version from the menus to extras there is even a 1 second pause in the same place of episode 23 on both. *The FX version is an R1 rip so this would count as one also. *I watched this series with PS2 (50001 model) and COBY DVD player (DVD-224 model) both with AV cable on a 25 inch RCA TV. *The animation is a little worse on my PS2 then normal DVD player but played on both. *Extras: Disk1-Opening and ending without credits. Disk2-Same as disk 1 Disk3- Some character art. The show it self: This is not a shallow action show. It has a well thought out story that builds nicely to an ending that gives a good sense of completeness to the series. The characters are explored well enough, even some of the lesser characters that are only around for a episode or two have a little depth to them. Oh and there are a lot of movie like shoot outs with some clever moments. Though on the other hand the pacing is slow at times and there are a lot of unneeded flash backs, like there will be a key moment in episode 3 that will be looked at in the form of a flash back in episode 4. It's keeps the story clear but people (like me) that like watching lots of episodes back to back will be bothered by it. Over all there is a lot more to love about Noir then hate. Highly recommended : )
