The art and animation portray Chobits as a bright and happy series and create a comic atmosphere surrounding the life of Chi and Hideki. The animation also contributes quite a bit to making Hideki come across as even more manic than he appears in the Manga. It's these over the top reactions that help give that extra bit of charm to the characters of Chobits, keeping the show from being pigeonholed into yet another fan service show. While there is quite a bit of fan service and mature situations occurring, thanks to the wit of the script it all ties together, coming across as the simple charm of the entire series.
Audio:
Both soundtracks share the same music and sound effects, allowing both tracks to feel comfortable. The music for Chobits is an interesting entity with a very retro feel to it. During the first few episodes it remains bubbly and fun, accentuating nicely the comic antics of the shows' participants.

Chobits is a tale of a young man, named Hideki, who happens to find a Persocom in the shape of a lovely young girl, named Chi. Completely out of his element, Hideki finds himself in the position of teacher while trying to sort out his own feelings about Chi. Falling away from the standard clichés, Chobits creates its own identity with a solid mix of romance, humor and simple, solid fun. At the heart of Chobits is a simple story of a young man out of place in the big city. Adjusting to his new life, Hideki becomes envious of the mainstay of big city life, the Persocom. Being a poor prep student, there's no way Hideki can afford a Persocom. As luck--and the plot of the story--would have it, Hideki comes across an abandoned Persocom in the trash. Taking her home, Hideki gets her working only to discover she can only say the word Chi. Confused by both her appearance and her complexity, Hideki stumbles around until his friends come to his aid. From there, the story progresses into a series of adventures, as Hideki must teach Chi how to get by in the world. With him being very naïve and a bit of a pervert and daydreamer, the story moves from one funny situation to the next. While there is quite a bit of fan service, the wit and charm of the story prevent it from shifting directly into simple exploitation. After the first few episodes, the audience finds it easy to relate to Hideki and to genuinely like all the characters involved.

Some minor pixilation, but nothing too noticeable.
Audio:
Audio was clear and sounded good. Watched it in English. Chii's voice actress is fairly annoying after awhile, since the main thing she says is "CHII!" over and over...and over again.

Chobits is a cute little story that is present in many japanese series. Bumbling idiot finds a cute little (robot) girl, falls in love with the (robot) girl, but doesn't have the balls to make a move on the (robot) girl. Chii is a naive robot who has no idea about anythign and has to be taught from the ground up. I did like when she would turn into her real personality, kind of evil and definetely not naive. All in all, its a decent series to watch. Not too terribly long and the story is ok.

Very small errors here and there but nothing to make you pull any hair out. The menu options and how they are highlighted on the first 2 disks does have the error where the highlight shows up alittle off from the accual item it is supose to highlight.
Audio:
Their is 2-3 episodes where when the preview for the next episode comes the audio cuts out completely for 5-10 seconds.

Chobits didn't strike me as a uper tier anime don't get me wrong the art is pretty good. Chi and her big dark eyes is so cute, but the first 17-18 episodes kind of bounces around aimlessly with no real storyline other then boy finds robot, boys in school, boy is a pervert of sorts. The real story doesent really start until the last 1/3 of the series. Overal decent series good for some laughs at some points, The Underpants episode is the best, but not an upper tier anime

The video quality was above average but still had many minor mishaps in the rip. As most R1 rips, the pixelization was there, but I felt it was very strong and noticeable in this anime set alone. Many of the scenes were blurred during high action and even during fadeouts. Also, if you notice, horizontal bulges appear on the top of the screen whenever a scene involves looking up and down a picture (erm..email attachment). Not a big deal and certainly doesn't affect the viewing experience. However, the colors are vibrantly shown in all the other scenes and the animation is very nice.
Audio:
The Japanese track was simply awesome for this set. Great volume, good sync and great clarity. The only thing I noticed was during the scene where Chi asks Hideki what is precious to him, Chi's voice has this static echo that follows. Not sure if it was intended, but its a bit annoying. Also, the last preview clip in the 2nd DVD has no sound whatsoever. -_- But the dubs are still great otherwise. The English track is not bad either. Same exact volume as the Japanese (in fact, you could change tracks and not even notice the difference except in language). The only bad thing about the English track is it starts out great, but towards the later episodes it loses volume and becomes very faint. Otherwise, not bad.

Sidenotes: * The menus for the first 2 disks are highlighted oddly on my Philips DVD player. They are distorted and don't highlight the actual button, but rather highlight an area right below it. It's pretty bad, and considering that I tested it on 4 different DVD players in my house and getting the same result, I don't think it's the DVD player. It may just be MY set but whatever it is, It's pretty bad. -_- * The Chobits DVD set from FX includes 24 series episodes and 3 extra summary episodes. Chobits also has a 5 minute special but is not included in this set. The 3 extra episodes are interesting in that they recap the series from little chats between supporting characters in the series. They're entitled: ( 9.5 ) - Shinbo & Sumomo Chat ( 18.5 ) - Minoru & Yuzuki Chat ( 24.5 ) - Hibiya & Kotoko Chat Other extras include other anime trailers. Overall Opinion: ...Chobits is a great series to own. A fun love story, a few laughs here and there and a great storyline make this anime live up to it's popularity. And you can't get any better than Chobits + FX. So get this set, it's worth it.

the video was very good, but on occasion (for about maybe 5 or 6 seconds total on each episode, mostly on the first disc) there was a bit of pixelation during action or when they were quickly moving, but it wasn't much
Audio:
no problems here, was sync'd and never cut out at any point

the 'extras' were just some trailers for other animes there are also the 3 re-cap episodes on the third disc, but the 'Chibits' 5-minute short was missing

Great Video quality cause Rip from R 1 but there're some pixelation in moving scene(like Noir but not too much,I think because there're too many Ep.) and too bright in some scene but not a big problem cause every scene still clear.

This is great series for you to collect it ,the box is very nice but I just feel little disapoint about the menu if you buy Aiyori Aoishi and Please teacher you know both of them have great menu and another problem,I think if any series have more than 24 ep. there're always some problem about moving scene(like Noir) may be 1 disc/8 ep. will perfect however this series still awesome buy it now.

Overall the video was crisp and clear, so no issues with that. However there were a couple occasions whereby you can see a bit of pixelation on the end of the shirt when he is running or where there were fast action. But it does not affect the enjoyment of the set at all.
Audio:
I only watch anime in Jap with subs (never watch in English). Hence my comment is that there are no issues with audio as it's always consistent. Good sound!

Chobits is an interesting set to watch - it is a romantic with splashes of comedy. I can actually imagine that in the future, we just might have these persocom's and I'll be sure to snag me a couple if I am still around! After completing the set it did leave me with mixed feelings, don't get me wrong as it had a happy ending but the thought of persocom & human having a loving relationship just felt odd, even though her personality came from 'somewhere unknown'.. (the great thing is they also address this issue in the series.) Well, each to their own I say! Still, I would recommend watching it because it is a beautifully presented set and worthy to add to anyone's anime collection.

It's Presented in Anamorphic Widescreen. When there's little action or movement it looks beautiful and crisp. Unfortunatelly there's pixealation and macro blocking in a couple of moving scenes (speacilly in the 1st DVD) . I noticed this particulary in my widescreen TV ...in my regular 4:3 TV where i watched 2 episodes it was much less evident but it was still there ocassionaly.
Audio:
Standard Eng / Jap Stereo 2.0 Unfortunatellt in the 2nd DVD's Last episode the "next episode preview" suddenly becomes without any sound whatosever (that happens with the Jap and Eng audio track) and in my Pioneer DVD player it simply refused to play it.

Contains 27 episodes (that includes the 3 recap episodes), but doesn't include the 5 minute (or so) Chibits Special. Contains just some trailers as extras.

i found no problems with this on my stereo set sounded great
