Video:
Well this video isnt 16:9 anamorphic like the R1s they were ripped from! This means its now 4:3. The stange bit is the video is a bit squashed verticaly. I would of thought more horizontally? Anyway its not THAT noticeable but I compared it to a TV ripped fansub and it was slightly squashed... Also as I compared it I noticed that the video was slightly washed out. The colours were more vivid on the fansub! The worst bit is that light colours seem to have little difference between them... Its hard to explain but i'll post screen shots. The only word I can think of to describe it could be contrast... Say we were looking at Chi (yes Chi not Chii as its an R1 rip!) here hair would be lightish and then her highlights would blend into the hair so that you could barely see that there was ment to be two colours there! The video is also quite blurry and soft. Not drasticaly but if you watch on a PC its annoying... TV aint so bad.
Audio:
Well the audio for the most part is great but the weird part is that its missing some sentances! I dont know how the HELL they messed this up but I was sitting watching and suddenly subs came up but with no dialogue! My first thought was dubtitles so I checked the dub but its a different script. I then checked my trusty fansubs and there was the missing audio! The funny bit is there is background music playing were the missing dialogue is! My only guess is the Dolby Digital 5.1 has some channels messed up as sometimes the dialogue will drop in volume or cut out so must be an encoding problem? Anyway its only occaisonal and I guess the dubs there to if you want.

Comment:
There are also some extras although they mess them up to! There's a creditless opening although it has credits lol! And there's a original Japanese opening except its the same English one with credits lol! There is also Pioneer previews although the button on the menu actually says 'art gallery' and the button for the art gallery says 'trailers' lol! The art gallerys each feature 6 different images of Chobits. I've only seen up to halfway through disc 2 but had to post to warn people to get the FX set! Not a great start for AV as I believe this is like the 2nd or 3rd R1 rip they've done... Oh well better luck next time AV! Oh the packaging is really nice actually, shame about the set though!
