The video is purely fantastic. an R1 Rip, and it's not pixelated WHAT SO EVER.
Audio:
Jap audio - pretty quiet, but you only need to turn the TV up a little :) audio is very clear as well. Eng audio - a great volume, and everything is heard clearly, no complaints for either audio track. I like the English audio probably the best. I generally HATE dubbed anime, but Ranma is an exception. They did a really great job with this one.

Comment:
DVD is very easy to operate. The menus have been done very well. there are special features too. Like the openings and endings without words or credits. Character Designs, and info on the English voice actors. This DVD collection is probably the EXACT same as the FX copies. This set is a must buy though. It's a great series, and the animation is very well done. Cheers.

Just like the R1 releases! Nice video quality from the get-go. No grains, no blobs, no nothing! Gotta love it!
Audio:
Why am I not surprised? Just like the original American Viz release, the English audio is much louder than the Japanese audio. Despite that, I always choose the Japanese dialogue with subs rather than hearing the English dub. You'll know why...

Very perfect quality. Nothing really mistankinbly wrong with the video nor does it show signs of it being grainy. Let's you enjoy the show since it's very "colorly." Allows you to watch the romantic martial arts comedy that it is.
Audio:
OK, the music in the English version is a little louder than the Japanese audio so it's kind of weird, but still audible nor should it really bother the viewer or take away the fun of watching Ranma.

I've been a Ranma fan since 6th grade and I'm now a college senior. So I'm pretty happy to find the first 2 seasons in this wonderful DVD set. I'm remember the days of getting the dub (2 episodes per VHS) for like $35. Now I'm practically paying that much for this wonderful DVD set.

The video on this box set is decent, although maybe not exceptional. There is almost no pixelation but the video itself seems a little dated, but its expected seeing as this series was created in the 1990?s. I am pretty sure that this looks almost as good as the R1, unless they were to release a new re-mastered version.
Audio:
The audio on the English dub is loud and clear, the Japanese dub is recorded a little lower but is also good. This is one series where I actually prefer watching the dub to watching it subtitled because the dub is very well done, however the sound featured is only in stereo which might dissapoint some of your audio nerds.

Ranma ½ is a hilarious TV series, no one should miss it. I didn?t think I would like it at all but now I consider it my favorite anime series ever. It?s full of all sorts of slap stick gender blender comedy and more funny situations than you could ever think of. A lot of full frontal nudity but it never exceeds that (much). But to those who have or use cheap Dvd players I might suggest avoiding this release, my Apex 1010W had a lot of trouble playing some of the discs, but my more expensive Emerson Dvd player had no problem and played them all perfectly.
