Oh... my... Well, a TV rip, but a really terrible one. Not so much as pixelation (not a fast-moving series), but there's a sort of 'imprint' upon the video. Say there's one scene. You can slightly make out that same scene over the current scene, but shifted. One time, (in the underwater murder episode) I swear I could see someone playing baseball or something over the video. It is rather noticable, but not as distracting. The video definantly won't be for everyone. Other then that, colors are good, and lines are fine. But this 'mixing' of the TV station was really really bad. It ranges from 3.5 stars to 4 stars.
Audio:
Fine. Can't really say anything about it other then it was clear, plain, 2.0 channel.

Comment:
Packaging: It has my major pet peeve: manga pictures. Stupid manga pictures, except for the Disc 1 picture, which is anime. A little dissapointing, since MI used such amazing packaging. It's OK, and I do like the orange color motif for the whole set, it's just the manga pictures don't agree with me at all. Menus: Well, it starts out as horrible horrible horrible, then it disc 2 it much improves, and then in disc 3 it gets even better. So they progressivly improve, but at the same time are never that great. Gets you through, though. So the actual show... Very, very good. I liked some parts better then Detective Conan (the having to knock out someone to reveal the mystery in Conan gets too old too quickly), while this was more realistic, and the mysteries sometimes were good long arcs, instead of one-episode happenings. Very nice animation helped contribute to the enjoyment of the show, and I found it rather interesting. The first disc is a little slow (introduce everything), but after that it starts REALLY picking up. One thing I hated though was the last episode of the disc was the start of a new mystery!!!!! So now I have to get the next DVD to see it solved, and then that might start a new arc! Still worth it. Overall, if you want to see the show, get the set. The video quality is pretty bad, but this isn't a set you'd really re-watch. I would reccomend the MI set, but I don't know if the video quality or subtitles are any good, and the 4 episode a disc is terrible (this set has 8 per DVD). Overall, fun set. Glad I got it.
