No pixellation whatsoever. The video looked like a perfect R1 rip.
Audio:
I don't have a fancy audio system- so I wouldnt be able to tell you a thing about 5.1 surround sound or what not. I watched the dvd set on a 27 inch television. Based on everything else I've watched on that television I can say the audio was very good: clear, a good volume, and no audible defects.

Comment:
This second part of Macross is an absolute must own- you can't finish the Macross saga without it! Macross along with Yamato and Gundam 0079 represent the most important contributions to Japanese animation tv series. If youve seen the badly dubbed, severely edited, and inferior Robotech: Macross Saga, do youself a favor and WATCH THE ORIGINAL! Macross has a really great story, character development, and mech designs. This set is on 2 discs and comes in a gatefold packaging with slip case. I couldnt recommend this enough.
