Really crappy video. Looks like a messed up Laser Disc rip. The colors bleed and and the overall video is dull.

Audio:

Says it's 5.1 but I doubt it. Soft noises are too soft and loud noises distort.

Subtitle:

Very bad engrish. Very few lines are truly understandable.

Comment:

Don't buy. This release is a total waste of money.

Video:

Probably taken from an LD source. However, this doesn't mean it's quality video. The picture is dull and the colors bleed.

Audio:

It sounds ok. Louder noises distort. Softer ones can't be heard too well. The disc is supposedly 5.1, but I highly doubt this. (It's probably just fake 5.1, so you get that echo effect).

Subtitle:

The subtitles are just plain horrible. I found myself often pausing the movie trying to translate from engrish to English. I don't think there was one sentance in the whole movie that even used proper English.

Comment:

This movie is good, but this DVD is not. Don't try saving a few dollars on the movie and buy this one. Go out and buy the official release. It's the only way you're going to see this movie properly. Akira itself deserves a 4/5.
