The video on this set is ok, not great but ok. There was a lot of pixelation and it skipped a bunch, especially in the third disk. I mean i missed the ending to a very crucial episode because of this. However dont let this keep you from buying it, it is a very good series and well worth your money.
Audio:
The audio for the most part is great, but in the early episodes it lacks a little bit. I had to really turn it up to hear it well and it kind of fades. However after about episode 5 the audio gets better and its smooth sailing from there on in.

Overall this is a very good anime, a little bit of romance a little bit of action. It is nicely paced and the comedy comes in at good times (althought the fact that that one dude wont die pisses me off) anyways this is a definite buy. BUY I SAY BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent video quality, considering many action scenes from a mech series as you would expect. Don't need to rub your eyes for this one. Full Metal Panic is a Gonzo animation, which accounts for the seemingly larger-than-life animation style prevalent throughout the series.
Audio:
Upping the ante for soundtracks, features two English soundtracks, one in standard 2.0 and the other in 5.1, as well the original 2.0 Japanese soundtrack

The story of Full Metal Panic comes up as the standard good guy protects good girl scenario. The magic of the series mixes in a few other standard plot lines, blending a whole and unique adventure. Mixing in romance, comedy, action and drama the first four episodes of FMP lay out the world and the characters pretty quickly allowing the viewer more time to enjoy the chaos that ensues. At the core is a fish-out-of-water story with Sousuke thrown into an environment that is wholly alien to him. Growing up a soldier, he has no idea that his actions cause chaos wherever he goes. Add in a love and hate relationship with Kaname, and Full Metal Panic quickly moves away from the typical giant robot storyline. The story of Full Metal Panic has a large number of elements as well a solid amount of background information that slowly leaks thru as the episodes move on. It's hard to fall into a rut when anything could realistically happen within this world.

Full Metal Panic has some absolutely gorgeous action scenes (i.e. under-water explosions, -huge- mushroom clouds, light effects, etc...), and I didn't notice any pixelation during even the most intense scenes. The color was phenomenal, and no noticeable video quality loss occured even with 8 episodes per disc (the set is 3DVD, with an 8-8-8 episode split). I've raved about the quality of a lot of FX sets before, but this set takes the prize for best video quality I've seen thus far... hands down.
Audio:
Really clear for both the Japanese and English audio tracks. I noticed some static in the quality of the menu music, but who cares about that? Explosions, music, and voice tracks are all of great quality. No problems what-so-ever.

A very good blend of light-hearted comedy, action (some of the close-quarters Arm Slave battles blew me away), and even serious storylines... similar in atmosphere to sCRYed. The series starts out on the comedic side, taking its time developing the characters and getting you attached to them before the action really kicks in. When things start to get really serious, there are a couple of entertaining filler episodes to break up the action/drama. An ideal series for mech fans... as well as non-mech action/comedy fans. Even the girlfriend -loved- this one, and she usually steers relatively clear of the giant-robot series. By the end of the series, you'll be ready to throw in the first DVD and watch it all over again. Review Hardware: DVD Player(s): Sony DVP-NS315 and Malata DVP-393 TV: Sony Trinitron 32" Flat Screen

On my DVD player and TV the interlacing on some scenes (mainly high action) was very amplified. I tried it on my computer and it looked fine, so i'm guessing it's just my TV and DVD player. The colours were nice and bright, even in the darker underwater scenes.

Audio is brillant, no problems. There are 3 audio tracks: - English Dolby Digital 5.1 English 2.0 Japanese 2.0

I don't really have any complaints, it's a brilliant set, definatly an R1 rip. The DVD case and discs are all beautiful and high quality. The menu is the same on all the discs, very nice menu though. I'd recommend this series to any anime fan, it's just great, my favourite anime next to Cowboy Bebop. I just noticed that there is some extra's. Disc's 1 and 2 have a 2 minute sequence of character and mecha stills, colour ones and outline drawing's. I just put several screenshots up on the screenshots page, also a pic of the inside of the box, and the outside.

Great set this is one of the fun sets i could watch more than one episode in one sitting ! the story is smooth and can be enjoyed ! this is an easy set to watch and get into with out feeling bored or not liking it ! even if you dont like mechs this is a great series for the people that like comedy/drama. Disc one: Great batch of episodes i really think the series could end in these episodes ! it could be like 6-9 eps. the audio and visual's were great no pixelation on this disc at all. no motion lines either ! Disc 2: i found some stoping and plaing problems it would skip alot in all of my players ! i stuck it out through the bad times and it worked out ! but it would frezze for min's at a time ! other than that the audio and video were great ! Disc 3: great ending. the disc had some of the same problems from disc 2 but not as many frezzes ! only a few times in the last 2 episodes . the rest of the episodes on the disc were great , audio and visual. all in all it was a great series , i might want to check out another set by a diffrent company to see if they have less data corruption . -LE

Overall good quality, pixelates from from sudden movements. Screen transitions as well for certain scenes. However, that could be from my Apex dvd player.
Audio:
Really good sound quality. Don't see 5.1 for the japanese track only available for the dub. English dub is not too shabby either.

A pretty cool mech show that mixes in a good combination of action and comedy. There is a smattering of panty shots for those who are looking. Rather enjoyable, extras have still shots of the characters of the show. Recommend it to those that need something to air out all the Evangelion and Rahxephon philisophical mumbo jumbo from your head. =P

i gotta say the animation on this anime is totally awesome. there was only ONE part where i notice pixelation, but it was only for less than a second. the mecha battles are pretty good, they actually show the fighting unlike some other anime (i.e. gundam wing, even though i love the show). the opening themes and ending themes are probably the best animation there is anywhere. it's beautiful.
Audio:
i loved the japanese voices, everything sounded like it should. also i only watched a very little part with english dubbed and i could say it's really good. unlike evangelion which makes u wanna rip ur ears out. the opening theme and the ending theme are so nice to listen to. it's juss beautiful, it makes u wanna keep goin back and listening to the themes.

omg, how long have i waited to see this series. first i found out about this series from someone. and knowin me i dont' have enough money to buy the actual R1 dvds. thank god for import-anime. i was so relentlessly tryin to download this anime from bit torrents, but u could say i had no luck. but all the time waitin was worth it. i finally gotta see a truly awesome anime. if the comedy doesn't draw u in, than surely the romance or mecha battles would. truly fantastic, i recomend this to anyone. oh and there's a typo, it's not 26 episodes, it's 24. but don't worry, they have a second season. and i'm requestin so badly that import-anime get it. this is great for anyone.

All in all this is a totally kick but anime, its mecha, and its not mecha, basically, if all you want is fighting and mecha action, then this may not be for you, there is a decent amount of fighting and action, but then you have some character developement, some love triangles, its all here, this anime rocks, for those who love mechs and even those who dont, this anime has an excellent story, its light hearted and then its not, it does something that many animes attempt but only some pull off, it takes a combination of genres and puts them together flawlessly, the voice actors for both the jap/eng audio versions are superb, I dont glorify too many animes but let me say this, FMP deserves any good comments one may make about it, it is perfectly executed and doesnt ever let go of you ,and it never relies on any cheap, cliche scenes to tie it together, the story comes along at a perfect pace and never seems like it is in a rush to to bring it all into a closure, from beginning to end I enjoyed watching FMP, not only is it visually beautiful and sounds great, but the ending didnt leave me hanging very bad like most of my other favorites, it comes to a close nice and smooth...what are you waiting for, get this anime before its too late...
