Video:
Typical FX (well... typical for older fx, before their episode distribution got dodgy, and the video quality went along the same path). This is as good as it is going to get, considering the show is almost 10 years old. I didn't notice any major pixelation, there was no interlacing issues, and the colors are all as vibrant as the source.
Audio:
Phenomenal on both the English and Japanese sides. The opening and ending themesongs seem to have a louder volume level than the shows themselves... but that's the case in either language track, and is likely the case with the original source.

Comment:
What can you say about Slayers? It's a classic series. If you like action, comedy, and fantasy settings, then Slayers is the show for you. I went years only seeing the movies and OVAs, without watching the TV series... so it was a really big treat for me to finally see the first season of TV shows. I'm hooked. The TV series, in my opinion, far surpasses the already excellent movies and OVAs. Lina Inverse is now one of my favorite female anime characters, and actually one of my favorite anime characters, period. The supporting cast is just as wonderful (with the exception of the outrageously dumb-witted, and annoying Sylphiel).
If you haven't experienced Slayers yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. Highly recommended.

DVD Player(s): Sony DVP-NS315, Malata DVP-393, Polaroid PDV-0700 Portable DVD Player
TV: Sony Trinitron 32" Flat Screen
NOTE: I could not get this set to play on my model of PS2... it would not read the disc beyond the main title menu. It played fine on my other DVD players (above), as well as my generic DVD-Rom.
