I had big hopes for this. I was a little let down. The story could've been better in my opinion. It was set up quite well but didn't fulfill its potential. When it was the end, I was thinking 'is that it?'. There was a touching scene near the middle of the series with some ship or another. Sci-fi fans will love this best, especially trekky fans. 3.5

The video quality on this release is very crisp. I felt alittle let down by the fact that the first 6-8 episodes are rather dry and slow paced to a point. The later episodes pick up and get better but I feel this anime should of been longer for what they were tring to acomplish

I would say this is a keeper for die hard anime fans but nothing more then a renter for the casual fan

No provblems here. The anime seemed a little ill funded, but the story sure makes up for it.

This anime is great. The animation isn''t Princess Mononoke quality, but I love it. The plot is great and you grow with the characters. I saw the first 5 or so episodes 2 years ago. I was glad to finally be able to finish out the story. I recommend it.

English wasn't as annoying as some of the voice actors in other shows. Also, when I was watching the english dub on a laptop, the old lady whose bag was stolen and the kids was speaking japanese. I almost had a heart attack! I thought some minor characters weren't going to be speaking english. But I think it only happened that one time. Not sure if it was the laptop's fault or the disc.

I'm not much a sci fi buf but I thought this series was pretty good. I recommend it as a must buy. I wanna get Banner of the Stars once the perfect collection gets out. The fight scenes are not as good as others but it's the relationship between the characters that makes it worth while.

I love space, and I love drama...BUT THIS SERIES IS AS FUN AS WATCHING A SLUG MOVE ACROSS CONCRETE!!! I swear, it takes them five minutes to do anything, and to me is an obvious ploy to take up time so the show can make another episode. I do not plan on keeping this one any longer than I have to. Video quality was nearly perfect. I have rented the first R1 disc and noticed no big difference in quality between the two. To my memory, I do not remember any example of pixilation, but I might be wrong. There were many fast scenes (the battles in space) and I don't reacall seeing any examples of it. I'd be surprised if you would really noticed. The series itself was made in 1999, so it isn't as crisp and clean as many new series, but it's still a good rip by MAC.

I listened to the English track for the duration of the viewing of this series (I had seen it prior thanks to fansubs in Japanese, so I figured I'd listen to the English track). Overall a great set. I'm waiting for MAC to rip Banner Of The Stars I & II. Really a good buy if your looking to get a space anime. Packaging: Basically they're scans of the R1 covers. We get a nice picture of Lafiel on the front cover. Inside, there are two panels the first being a picture of Lafiel and Jinto and the second is a direct copy of the front cover. Each disc has the same picture as the panel. The back has a short description of the series, a few screenshots and an episode list (which I usually like to have on hand as I'm watching series). There’s also the standard information like the time, number of episodes, and various other technical pieces of information. Overall a really nice packaging job by MAC. The discs are beautiful and make you really want to put them into the player and give them a whirl. Final Notes: The only problem you'll have is waiting to see Banner Of The Stars I & II (the sequels to this series).

Pretty much perfect. One or two times where some breakup occured in detailed scenes, but not too noticible even when it happens. This is as good as R1 rips can get.

No probs that I noticed on the Japanese track. Spot checked the English and it sounded good. Great audio rip as well.
