after reading peter's review (in the AC version) i went to bought this series. and i think both version is the same. video quality is good. but bad if you're watching on a 4:3 TV as it is reencoded o be as a full screen 720x480, which is bad as part of the screen will be cut of. (you'll know about how evil this is if you encode videos yourself. as i know it the series is a wide presentation, so my first reaction was, what the heck. i think you'll be safe if you have a wide screen tv and definitely safe if you watch it on a PC. a little of pixellation, when i say little its very little.
Audio:
good, when yasashii yoake came in i was shocked, i only got a compressed mp3 file of it and the tv rip version. at first i thought that was this the same song, and it is. very different indeed, in a good way that is. the sound is more vibrant and i can hear the little things (sounds) more clearly.

more info, read peter's review. :P if you're the picky type, like me, you're better off buying all 4 volume of the game. and get this for episode 28
