I had one of the R1 discs for this series and was always curious to see how it ended, now I know. For some reason it remimded me of Ruinhunters. I really enjoyed it.

The video quality was great for both the oav and tv series.
Audio:
The english and japanese audio for this set sounded great. At first you would think you were watching some millitary-scifi-mecha anime, but you aren't.

This series is great. I fell in love with it ever since I saw a trailer for it on one of my dvds. I thought to myself "This series looks like sailor moon" then later I found out that it has the same character designer (Ikuko Itoh) and director (Junichi Sato) for the sailor moon series. It was great set, well worth the money.

The video was great. the OVAs (disc1) looks the same as the TV series and it was made 3 years earlier, thats how good the video is, the las episodes of the discs had little pixalation but hardly noticible. Very GOOD.
Audio:
There were no problems with the audio, it sounded great in both lang. and they were in sync. Two track one english and one japanese, both in 2.0ch. No problems at all. GREAT

This series was really entertaining, at first is kind of slow but it picks up later and at the end is quite seious, I really like it. No extras, the OVAs had 5 chapter breaks per episode and the TV series had 4 chapter breaks (no preview). I highly recomend this series & set to anyone. equipment: APEX AD-1110W DVD player, 20" Daewoo TV.

Very good. I saw some slight blockiness on the fast scenes, but whether that was just due to my dvd player, who knows. Very good

OAV series was brilliant. The tv series was ok, not as good. A good titles overall. No extras. Very funny moments in this title, the kind that makes you laugh out loud.

DVD 1 Bitrate : 9.42Mbps DVD 2 Bitrate : 9.42Mbps DVD 3 Bitrate : 9.00Mbps crystal clear on my Flat 21" TV with s-video output (5.0/5.0) a little blurry on a 17" LCD monitor (4.5/5.0) the 6 OVAs are on the first DVD 13 episodes on the last 2 DVDs (7-6)
Audio:
both English & Japanese are 2.0 Dolby Digital both tracks are clear and recommended to check them both (the dub is quite good and funny) the English voice actors for Takakura , Sae, and the rest of the cast have done a great job

Rejoice, this IS the COMPLETE, Magic Users Club, as this set does in fact, contain the 6 OVA?s on the first disc, with the 13 TV ep?s on the other 2 discs (7 of the 13 ep?s on disc 2, and the last 6 ep?s on disc 3) hence the need for the 3 discs in this set (which I thought odd that MAC, who usually cram as much as possible on each disc, would spread out 13 ep?s on 3 discs, thus leading me to believe that they had included the 6 OVA, and I was right :) Okay, so this set gets a 4/5 for picture for one thing (and this might even be an issue with the R1 set that this was so OBVIOUSLY ripped from) and that is that the picture is slightly dark. Not annoyingly so, but it is noticeable. As for compression problems, well, if you want R1 quality, then you?d have to pay the R1 price for this set, but as picture quality goes, I saw nothing worth mentioning in the bits of ep?s that I watched (and that?s even during heavy action scenes as well)
Audio:
The English audio sounded fine, but looses half a point for a slight drop in sound level on one of the 3 discs (can?t remember which one, sorry) and by sound drop, I mean the sound of the whole ep (and even the music playing on the menu screen for those ep?s effected, drop down a notch. Of course, all one has to do is turn the sound up for these ep?s, but it?s still a little annoyance, all the same (I?m picky about certain things, shoot me? lol) As for the Japanese track, I usually don?t listen to them, unless the English voice actors are doing a spectacularly horrendous job, not because I?m too lazy to read the sub?s, mind you, but because I?m an artist, and find that I miss out on the artistry of the animation and drawings (etc?) if I?m bogged down, trying to read (and in some cases, due to poor sub?s, trying to decipher) what?s being said. This is especially bothersome in shows where there?s a LOT of dialog, where it begins to feel more like you?re reading a book, then watching anime :) Hey, but that?s just my prerogative :)
