Video:
Rejoice, this IS the COMPLETE, Magic Users Club, as this set does in fact, contain the 6 OVA?s on the first disc, with the 13 TV ep?s on the other 2 discs (7 of the 13 ep?s on disc 2, and the last 6 ep?s on disc 3) hence the need for the 3 discs in this set (which I thought odd that MAC, who usually cram as much as possible on each disc, would spread out 13 ep?s on 3 discs, thus leading me to believe that they had included the 6 OVA, and I was right :)
Okay, so this set gets a 4/5 for picture for one thing (and this might even be an issue with the R1 set that this was so OBVIOUSLY ripped from) and that is that the picture is slightly dark. Not annoyingly so, but it is noticeable.
As for compression problems, well, if you want R1 quality, then you?d have to pay the R1 price for this set, but as picture quality goes, I saw nothing worth mentioning in the bits of ep?s that I watched (and that?s even during heavy action scenes as well)
Audio:
The English audio sounded fine, but looses half a point for a slight drop in sound level on one of the 3 discs (can?t remember which one, sorry) and by sound drop, I mean the sound of the whole ep (and even the music playing on the menu screen for those ep?s effected, drop down a notch. Of course, all one has to do is turn the sound up for these ep?s, but it?s still a little annoyance, all the same (I?m picky about certain things, shoot me? lol)
As for the Japanese track, I usually don?t listen to them, unless the English voice actors are doing a spectacularly horrendous job, not because I?m too lazy to read the sub?s, mind you, but because I?m an artist, and find that I miss out on the artistry of the animation and drawings (etc?) if I?m bogged down, trying to read (and in some cases, due to poor sub?s, trying to decipher) what?s being said. This is especially bothersome in shows where there?s a LOT of dialog, where it begins to feel more like you?re reading a book, then watching anime :)
Hey, but that?s just my prerogative :)
