The video quality is good. But its not that great. The anime is quite old though. Some scenes on my set freezes.

Audio:

The audio was great I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. But could have been better I just listened to the english dub.. And only a little jap.

Subtitle:

The subs were okay . But on the first two discs they completely suck! Only the third disc was no probs with subs.

Comment:

THis is a really wierd set. The first two disc are from Anime studio while the third is not. THe first two dvds have chinese subs but the third does not.. ALthough I don't read or understand chinese. Just wanted to note that. The first two dvds have the same menu although the third one didn't.. I liked how the third dvd was.. It was perfect..

Video was good, grainy at times might also be because the series is older(1997), disc 1 and 2 had the anime studio splash screen and the actual pressing on the 2 discs looked like anime studio, the 3rd disc was a step above the others.

Audio:

Offers both english and japanese, I watched with the japanese track and it was perfect I also like the song when Utena walks up the stairs for the duels. I checked the english audio a few times for the lost subs, everything checked out fine

Subtitle:

Could be perfect if it wasn't for the first 2 discs, which dropped a line almost every episode and had transparent subs for some of the songs. Third disc was perfection.

Comment:

Good series, weird why the first 2 discs were AS, 3rd disc had extras. Make sure you have part 2 waiting, because the story continues right along.

Video quality is very minorly grainy but by no means deterring a viewing pleasure. There is no pixellation found. Despite disk 1 and 2 has the old AS face print, all episodes in all 3 disk has consistant video quality.

Audio:

Eng and Jap dub found. Only have listened to Jap dub and volume consistancy is found fine.

Subtitle:

Only a line or two of *unimportant* Eng subtitle were found missing in one or two episodes in disk 1 and 2 of this set. Do not recall disk 3 has missing sub Eng sub. Just simply switch to Eng dub and fast back to listen to the unsubbed moment. I found Eng sub pretty much matches the Eng dub. OP and EN are also Eng subbed. OP sub font is typically tranparent background with black border. Episode sub font is white background and black border.

Comment:

All episodes are in correct order in each disk. This is a good set that is definitely safe to buy.

The First 2 DVDs are just the old AS set repackaged (episodes 1-13), looks good but with some "grain" in the video (probably R1s fault) - Fortunatelly it contains NO logos the 3rd DVD is a new rip and the r1 source is also newer, and looks pretty much perfect, with no pixealation

Audio:

Contains Jap and Eng Audio tracks, and no problems in this departament

Subtitle:

the 1st 2 DVDs have something like 1 missing line per episode (altough maybe in 3 or 4 episodes i didn't noticed no missing lines) ... the subs for the Credits (opening and ending) are also a little screwed up in these 2 DVDs, because sometimes they don't show up or become "transparent" with only the borders showing (pretty much difficult to read) The 3rd DVD subs , are however pretty much perfect, with no missing lines

Comment:

Contains no Extras
